1 11/14/2006JDDE, DLMSO IPR1 Joint Deployment Distribution Enterprise (JDDE) A product from the policy makers at USTRANSCOM

2 11/14/2006JDDE, DLMSO IPR2 JDDE Fundamentals The Military Problem... Lack of an integrated, net-centric environment Limited asset visibility and in-transit visibility Insufficient commonality in force data elements Central Ideas Future Joint Deployment Distribution Enterprise (JDDE) “backbone” for joint distribution operations JDDE with the ability to rapidly and effectively move and sustain selected joint forces JDDE networked in near real-time with common operational views and shared knowledge… 2015-2025

3 11/14/2006JDDE, DLMSO IPR3 Joint Logistics (Distribution) Joint Integration Concept (JL(D) JIC) This joint integrating concept calls for a join deployment and distribution enterprise (JDDE) capable of providing prospective Joint Force Commanders (JFCs) with the ability to rapidly and effectively move and sustain joint forces in support of joint operations. JL(D) JIC includes: Tasks/Conditions/Standards TASK: JL(D) JIC 3.1.2.1: Share information among all elements of the JDDE Metrics: JL(D) JIC 3.1.2.1: Percent of JDDE personnel participating in communities of interest (100%) Percent of JDDE elements networked (100%) TASK: JL(D) JIC 3.1.2.1.1: Utilize common logistics data (data transparency) Metrics: JL(D) JIC 3.1.2.1.1: Percent of logistics data common to all JDDE participants (100%)

Matt Harnly matthew.harnly@penta gon.af.mil 703.695.2166 AF/DLA CCP Test Evaluate impact of processing USAF cargo through CCP on ship time. Test is being conducted from DDSJ to USAF locations in Korea, Guam, Diego Garcia, and Hawaii. James Wakely James.wakeley@penta gon.af.mil 703.697.7477 DLIS Data Quality Focus is on data in data systems for which DLIS is responsible as operation Program Manager or as provider of operational/developmental support to the program manager. DLIS Data Quality Plan provides a process to ensure data quality methodology for both legacy and modernization data system initiatives. Col. Patty Hunt patricia.hunt@dla.mil 703.767.xxxx Defense Transportation Coordination Initiative (DTIC) Improve the reliability, predictability, and efficiency of DOD material moving within the Continental United States by all modes through a long-term partnership with a world-class coordinator of transportation management services LtCol Jim Lovell jim.lovell@ustranscom. mil 618.622.2212

5 11/14/2006JDDE, DLMSO IPR5 DLMSO JDDE Initiatives ‘Watch List” Page 2 of 3 Initiative TitleInitiative DescriptionPOCPOC phone DPfM* Focus Area (Support IDE/GTN Convergence Implementation) Provide common integrated data services to enable development of applications which will provide the Combatant Commands, Services, the DOD, and other federal agencies a cohesive solution for the management of supply chain, distribution, and logistics information. Convergence will provide a single point of systems connectivity within DLA and TRANSCOM, and other systems; ensuring consistent access to common, authoritative logistics data, business standards, and information visibility. LTC Pat Flanders pat.flanders@dla.mil 703.767.6690 Item Unique Identifier (IUID) This effort involves marking every (each) item over $5,000 in unit cost that is serially managed, mission essential, or sensitive items under $5,000 with a machine readable unique item identifier (UII). This UIIs would be centrally registered and retrievable from a database and readable through automatic data capture. Initiative intended to improve item tracking, inventory management, and product life cycle. Lydia Dawson lydia.dawson@osd.mil 703.696.1098 * Distribution Process Owner Portfolio Manager (DPfM)

Gary Adams gary.adams@ustransc om.mil 618.229.4126 SDDC-DDC Distribution Transportation Reengineering Process Address gaps and seams related to surface movements as identified in the Class I & IV Rock Drill, and to apply success/lessons learn to other classes of supply. Andy Stephenson andy.stephenson @dla.mil DLA Transportation Global Edit Table DOD Single source for transportation LOAs and TACs, feeder shipper systems Fred Schutz fred.schutz@osd. mil 703.601.4461 Transportation Tracking NumberDetermine a method of assigning a unique number to a unit move and having that number remain "authoritative" and truly "unique" despite the data system it transits. TCN, UIC, and ULN are all insufficient ether in capacity or in practice to do this. Challenges anticipated are in determining whether existing datafields are sufficient or whether new datafields are required; method of generating and disseminating single tracking numbers; and ability of systems to process/hand-off requirements and have them return to JOPES as valid requirements.
