2. Prov 28:13, “He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.”

3. Doxology Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.— Amen.

4. The Book of Proverbs Chapter 10 Vs. 6-14, Contrasting the communication styles of the righteous and wicked! Pt. 3

5. Prov 3:5, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.”

6. Prov 10:13 “Discerning Lips” - Communication continues to be in view. Those who have built the norms and standards of their soul on Bible Doctrine.

7. The one who has Bible Doctrine in their soul will receive good judgment and insight that guides his speech thereby demonstrating wisdom in all things.

8. The contrast! “The rod is for the back.” An instrument of discipline, (Divine Discipline) 2 Sam. 7:14; Prov 13:24; 22:15; 23:13-14; 29:15.

9. Force and not mere words of rebuke or correction are required to harness the mouth of the senseless, Prov 14:3; 18:6-7; Psa 32:9. Cf. Heb 12:5-11; Rev 3:19.

10. The rod for those who are “lacking heart.” Cf. Prov 19:29; 26:3.

11. Prov 19:29, “Judgments are prepared for scoffers, and blows for the back of fools.”

12. Prov 26:3, “A whip is for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the back of fools.”

13. Talmudic proverb: “That which a wise man gains by a hint, a fool only obtains by a club.”

14. Prov 10:14 The wise man is consistent with his intake of Bible Doctrine into the right lobe of his soul through GAP!

15. The contrast! Destruction and/or terror loom imminently over the head of the foolish.

16. Prov 18:7, “A fool’s mouth is his ruin, and his lips are the snare of his soul.”

17. It is the impending “reap what you sow” principle of self induced misery. Cf. Gal 6:7-10

18. Section I, Unit III The consequences regarding the treatment of wealth.

19. Vs. 15 - Economic status. Vs. 16 - Remuneration of varied labor.

20. Prov 10:15 Being wealthy was a sign of the blessings of God. A general principle. Not absolute.

21. “Rich man’s wealth” Demonstrable material possessions and prosperity with significant power and influence socially and politically. (More importantly – Doctrine in the Soul!)

22. “Fortress” - QIRYAH, קִרְָיה, “town or city” plus OZ, עֹז, “strength or power.”

24. “Fortress” - QIRYAH, קִרְָיה, “town or city” plus OZ, עֹז, “strength or power.” The city of strength or power, or the strong city. Fortress suffices for the treasure metaphors in these verses.

25. Prov 18:11, “A rich man’s wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his own imagination.”

26. The contrast! Poverty due to the lack of Bible Doctrine (wisdom) in your soul, Vs. 4.

27. Prov 13:18, “Poverty and shame will come to him who neglects discipline (Bible Doctrine), but he who regards reproof will be honored.”

28. Prov 28:14, “He that tills his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that follows after vain persons shall have poverty enough.”

29. The warning to the rich is in Prov 28:11, “The rich man is wise in his own eyes, but the poor who has understanding sees through him.”

30. The Bible does not consider poverty as good or desirable in itself, but it is preferable to wealth under certain circumstances, cf. Prov 15:16-17; 19:1, 22.

31. Prov 15:16-17, “Better is a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and turmoil with it. 17 Better is a dish of vegetables where love is than a fattened ox served with hatred.”

32. Prov 10:15, the rich man stands independent, where changes and adversities do not easily overthrow him. He is raised above many hazards and temptations because of the Doctrine in his soul.

33. The poor man is overthrown by little misfortunes having no faith rest and his despairing endeavors to save himself, and when they fail it ruins him completely, falling deeper and deeper into reversionism.

34. Prov 10:16 “The wages of the righteous is life.” 2 Chron 15:7, “But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is reward for your work.”

35. The contrast! “The income of the wicked, punishment.” All they can produce is sin and they will be consistently under Divine discipline leading to, “sleep”, 1 Cor 11:30.
