3 A is for ARRIVAL Building opens at 7:30 a.m. (NO supervision before 7:30 a.m.) Report to grade level hallway. Released to classroom at 7:50 a.m Class begins at 8:00 a.m Tardy bell rings at 8:05 a.m.

4 B is for BIRTHDAYS To recognize your child’s birthday at school: Frozen treats for your child’s class can be purchased from the cafeteria ($0.50/child)and served at the end of lunch in the cafeteria. Cupcakes, cookies, treat bags, balloons, etc. are not permitted at school. (Regular price for ice cream is $0.75. The discounted price is for birthday celebrations only.) Per Humble ISD Policy: Birthday party invitations may not be distributed at school.

5 C is for CAR RIDERS “Side” Car Riders Drop off and Pickup area (Eagle Springs Pkwy) All Kindergarten students Students residing in: Preston Village, Arlington Park, Newfield Park, Sutters Creek, Cottage Grove, Sections 38 & 39 “Front” (Cafeteria) Car Riders Drop off and Pickup area (Will Clayton Pkwy) Students residing in: Cross Creek, Logan Ridge, Laurel Woods, Sierra Bridge, Meadow Lodge, Meadow Lake Car Rider signs MUST be displayed in vehicle on passenger side of front window or hanging from rear view mirror daily ALL school year. Parents may not walk up to the car rider line to pick up a child. Lane in front of school is reserved for bus riders/day care riders ONLY.

6 D is for DISMISSAL 1:50 Kindergarten 3:10 Car Riders 3:15 Day Care Buses/YMCA 3:15 Bikers/Walkers Any change in dismissal plans must be in writing. Students will only be released to persons listed on information card.

7 E is for Early Release Days Students will be released at 11:30 on these dates: Aug 27, Sept 23, Oct 27, Oct 28, Oct 29, Nov 18, Dec 17, Mar 31, May 19, June 1 Aug 27, Sept 23, Oct 27, Oct 28, Oct 29, Nov 18, Dec 17, Mar 31, May 19, June 1 Lunch will be available for purchase on these days & students will eat in their classrooms. Students may: Purchase lunch from the cafeteria Bring a lunch from home Opt to bring just a snack, if planning to eat after dismissal Schedule for Dismissal: 11:25 Car Riders 11:30 Day Care/YMCA/Bus 11:30 Walkers/Bikers

8 G is for Going Home Early Send requests for early pickup and/or changes in dismissal in writing to the teacher at the beginning of the day. Requests not sent at that time should be handled through the front office no later than 2:00 p.m. Students must be signed out through the front office, and will only be allowed to leave with persons indicated by parent on enrollment card. If child must be picked up early, do so prior to 2:45 p.m.

9 L is for LUNCH Cafeteria prices Breakfast – Child ($1.20) Reduced ($0.30) Adult ($1.75) Lunch - Child ($1.85) Reduced ($0.40) Adult ($2.75) Frozen Treats - $0.75 Parents are welcome to join students for lunch! Visitors must first check in at the front office. Parents are allowed to bring in outside food for their child only. It can not be shared with other children. (Texas FMNV Law)

10 N is for NEWSLETTER Eagle Eye We are proud to announce our Eagle Eye is “going green!” A new issue will be posted weekly on our school website. EAGLE MAIL Go to our website & sign up for EAGLE MAIL to have the newsletter emailed to you weekly. Paper copies will be available in our front office or by request only for parents without internet access.

11 P is for PHONES Cell Phones may not be used by drivers in our school zone. OFF Students are permitted to have cell phones, but they must be turned OFF and stored in backpacks during the school day. not Students are not permitted to bring other electronics to school, such as PSPs or iPods.

12 S is for Special Events We hope families can join us for these special events: Grandparents Day Lunch Friday, September 10 – Grandparents Day Lunch Veteran’s Day Breakfast Thursday, November 11 – Veteran’s Day Breakfast Fall Carnival Saturday, November 13 – Fall Carnival Thanksgiving Feast Wednesday, November 17 – Thanksgiving Feast Winter Parties Friday, December 17 – Winter Parties Friendship Parties Friday, February 11 – Friendship Parties Super Kids Day Friday, March 11 – Super Kids Day Kindergarten Splash Day Thursday, May 19 – Kindergarten Splash Day

13 T is for Talking with Teachers Relationships between parents & teachers are very important at ESE! Do not hesitate to call or email your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns. Fall Parent Conference Dates Thursday, October 28 Thursday, October 28 Friday, October 29 Friday, October 29 Every student is required to have a fall conference.

14 V for VOLUNTEERS/VISITORS We love our volunteers! PTO Volunteer Volunteering within classrooms is allowed only on a limited basis. However, there are many opportunities to help in our workroom as a PTO Volunteer. All volunteers must check in at the front office, obtain a visitor’s badge, and remain only in area designated on badge. Parents wishing to observe their child’s classroom should contact an administrator to arrange the observation. NO visitors NO visitors are allowed on campus when state-mandated tests are being administered: Mar 1, Apr 4, Apr 5, Apr 26, Apr 27, Apr 28, May 17, May 18
