9 Literature Circles 1) What are they? A: A student-led, student focused activity that promotes independent reading. 2) Why are we doing this? A: To be a college level, expert reader, you need to practice, practice, practice. Independent reading helps develop vocabulary and thinking skills. 1) What are they? 10 Literature Circles 3) How are we going to do this? A: After selecting a book, every Friday class, you’ll meet with your group and discuss the text.
