3 Background Check Process All teacher candidates, regardless of major, who are enrolled in an education class are required to have criminal history clearance. This is a secure process, which is handled by the ASU Public Safety Office, the Certification Office, and the Dean of the College of Education. 4 Background Check Process, cont. It is important that all misdemeanors and felonies are disclosed. Do not include minor traffic violations for which a fine of $100.00 or less was imposed. If you have an issue which is of concern, you will be contacted for an interview with the Dean.

18 A Final Word… Remember that you are representing ASU and everything you say and do is a reflection on us. We have a strong relationship with the schools we use for placements and we’re depending on YOU to continue that tradition. We hope you have a fantastic field experience this semester!!
