Any key person in Britain would come from the upper class

4. Former Soviet Union
Soviet Union used the term socialism (step in between communism & capitalism)
USSR would trumpet their equality & point out inequalities of the U.S.
Members of the communist party would decide who got to go to better schools & better jobs

5. Former Soviet Union Communist Party was highly stratified
Most people held low level positions (spy on other workers)
Middle level people were bureaucrats were given average access to resources & privileges
Top level was the elite, enjoyed power & luxury

6. Former Soviet Union
Russian leaders were frustrated with the people of the west and their success
Struggled with bloated bureaucracy, inefficiencies of central planning and costly military
Problem, most people still being deprived
Russia allowed elections with multiple candidates & began selling off govt. property to the people
While authority began to fall, mafia emerged
Controlled politicians, media & business leaders
This will disappear when the govt. reestablishes itself
