4 ◦ Book Level Goal  Generated by the software.  Helps ensure students read at a level appropriate for them as individuals.  They are set at the low end of students’ ZPDs to encourage them to read freely throughout an appropriate range.  If students have not taken the STAR Reading test, they can use the chart in packet to determine ZPDs. 4

7 Each grade level should offer different rewards/incentives. This way, students will go through the AR program with something different to look forward to each year. Ideas For every 5 books a student reads, they will get a reward. 5 – Bookmark 10 – Reading Certificate 15 – Change your seat day 20 – Homework Pass 25 – Lunch with Teacher 30 - Surprise Readers’ Hall of Fame - Students recognized for the number of books they read (successfully).
