4 Security etc. PBX in locked secure area UPS backup (>~ 4hrs), with connection to MG set  MG set acquired for scheduled outages  No unscheduled outage in ~ 20 years Also AT&T coin operated phones (backup) Access to PBX physically and password limited  Modem access has another userid & strong password for vendor support personnel Databases with phone #, user, ATOM, location etc. used by Guard gate (e.g. for 911 calls) Work with security and Windows team for future integration of voice and email

5 Cell Phones T-Mobile & Sprint have aerials on site, coverage pretty good, Cingular not as good. Negotiated contract for services with T-Mobile Individual contracts with Cingular Cellular User Guide  Phone & accessories available  Service plan, ordering, repairs, lost/stolen phones etc. Billing: charged back to account, working with vendor (T-Mobile) get each person bill, personal use re-imbursed

6 PDA Policy: Not supported, no special (full functionality) software at SLAC (reduce risk at cost of usability) Not decided on how managed, how supported Some people have been procuring:  2 Blackberries in ES&H on T-Mobile contract  Dozen Treos in Directors Office on Cingular Contract  Dozen MS Mobile PDAs in CEF & Klystron grps on T-Mobile All have Property of SLAC stickers Need to make a recommendation to limit diversity supported  Help desk then provide limited support  Desktop support people unofficially support Treos, others are on their own
