CLIP CHART REWARDS AND CONSEQUENCES If seen presenting leadership qualities you may receive a mystery motivator from the teacher or a clip up. If you are breaking one of the five rules, this will result in a clip down. One clip down is a warning and will be result in 5 minutes of walking at recess. If you receive two clip downs you will walk for 10 minutes at recess. If you receive three clip downs, you will walk for 15 minutes (the whole recess), parents will be notified, and Mr. Goff or Mr. Sanders will be notified. The notification should be signed and returned the next school day. There will be a copy of the clip chart in your agenda for recall. Point system: Each color on the chart stands for a point (pink-7, purple-6, and so on). It is your responsibility to put your points daily in your agenda. You will be responsible for speaking to your parents about your daily behavior.

VOICE-O-METER Frenzy Yell (Level 3) Normal (Level 2) Whisper (Level 1) Silence (Level 0) Strike System If the class is talking when asked not to or if we are being too noisy I will give the class a strike. The strike is a warning to let you all know that you need to either change your voice level or stop talking. The class will be allowed to get up to 5 strikes per day. If the class gets more than 5 strikes, our consequence as a class will be NO RECESS! If we synergize and work together this will never be an issue

HALLWAY PROCEDURES When in the hallway, you will remain at level 0, your hands are to your side, and you are walking a straight line on the second block. If this procedure is broken, you will be given a warning by our class Line Leader. If you continue to break the procedure you will clip down. When in the hallway by yourself, be a leader and walk quietly with your hands at your side and remain at a level 0.

LUNCH PROCEDURES When you walk in the hall, you will have your hands to your side, your face forward, and remain at a level 0. You will then follow the lunch room procedures when in the cafeteria. Remember the behavior cups on each table Remember to strive for the “golden” tray REMEMBER YOUR MANNERS!

WHAT TO DO IN THE MORNING 1.Enter the classroom. 2.Take off your backpack and put it in your cubby. 3.Get your materials out for the day. 4.Begin your morning work at a level 0. The directions for morning work will be on the Active Board.

ATTENTION GETTERS TEACHER Class Hocus Pocus Macaroni and Cheese Ready to rock? Yakkity Yak! Tootsie Roll, Lollipop Zip it, lock it STUDENT Yes Everybody Focus Everybody Freeze! Ready to roll! Don’t talk back! We’ve been talking, now let’s stop! Put it in your pocket!

MANNERS We will all be respectful in school. Examples Answer adults with “Yes mam, no mam” “yes sir, no sir” Do not have your hands on anyone for any reason. Say “Please” and “thank you” Smile. Smiling is the best. Put others before yourself. Think like a LEADER.

TURNING IN PAPERS With permission from the teacher, you will turn your paper into the corresponding bin on the cubbies. There will be a basket for each subject area. Please put your name on each item you turn in and your student number. Every Friday you will turn in your spelling homework and reading log to Homework Hotspot

LISTENING TO AND RESPONDING TO QUESTIONS When a classmate is speaking, you will remain quiet and respectful. When you are talking, think your answers through and in a complete sentence.

SHARPENING YOUR PENCIL Every morning there will already be pencils available for the day. There will be extras available in the small bucket by my desk. Place your pencils that need to be sharpened in the “Un-sharpended” cup. You will not be allowed to sharpen your pencil while I am teaching or while your classmates are talking or presenting in front of the class. You may sharpen your pencil when you first get to school or during independent work time.

WORKING COOPERATIVELY When working in groups everyone will share the responsibility. We will be kind and respectful to all members of the group. We will encourage our friends and help them when they are struggling. Remain at an appropriate voice level.

IF YOU ARE SUDDENLY ILL You do not have to ask to use the bathroom if you are going to be sick. Go! If you do not think you can make it to the bathroom, take the trash can with you.

WHEN THERE ARE ANNOUNCEMENTS Stop what you are doing and listen at a level 0.

WHEN YOU ARE TARDY If you are tardy, quietly tell the teacher your reasoning and begin your normal routine.

USING THE RESTROOM You will be allowed to use the restroom once a day outside of the regular restroom breaks that we will take. We will have two breaks for the restroom a day, as a class. When you need to use the restroom, you must ask the teacher. Grab the pass that is by the wall by the door and take it with you to the restroom.

WHEN YOU ARE ABSENT When you get back from being absent, it is your responsibility to get your missed work. There are folders on the bookshelf beside my desk labeled Monday-Friday. Choose the appropriate folder for the day that you missed and grab any papers that have your name on them to complete.

WHEN SOMEONE KNOCKS If someone knocks on the door, only the Greeter or the teacher are to get up and answer the door.

IF THE PHONE SHOULD RING If the phone rings, only the student with that job may answer the phone, or the teacher.

END OF DAY DISMISSAL You will need to make sure that you have all materials, including homework, ready to take home. Paper passers will pass out any important papers. You will be dismissed by groups to get your backpacks. Fill out your Clip-Chart points in your agenda. If time permits, we will discuss our daily “Plus and Deltas” as a class. Once your table has been dismissed, get your backpack, and then sit at your seat. Students will start “end of the day” jobs once everyone is back at their seat. Students will stack their chairs by their desk (in one stack) once they are called.
