Second: What does the data say – How healthy is your class?  Signs of Success: Many Classmates involved Strong attendance at events: Reunions, mini reunions Solid fund raising in terms of dollars, participation or both - participation is number one: you can control it - dollars vary by Class Officer Turnover - New officers every 5 years

9 8 Class Officers Weekend II.Where do you want to take your class?  Set Goals:  Class Dues - A leading indicator of class involvement  Dartmouth College Fund - Participation is critical it triggers more dollars

10 9 Class Officers Weekend II.Where do you want to take your class?  Set Goals (continued):  Attendance - Reunions - Mini Reunions - Number - location (not just Hanover!)  Executive Committee Increase the size - its all volunteer so if people want to be involved, get them involved - Everyone can be an officer – Why not?! - Include all time zones

11 10 Class Officers Weekend II.Where do you want to take your class?  Make People Accountable: - Assign Responsibility for each goal; - Set a deadline; - Review progress; - Revise goals if too easily met, or too hard to achieve

12 11 Class Officers Weekend II.Where do you want to take your class?  Have Fun! - This is supposed to be fun, an activity to keep the class involved and excited about Dartmouth - The Class can tackle hard issues – Governance etc – but your job is the big picture: - Class Cohesiveness - Class Spirit

13 12 Class Officers Weekend III.How can you get there?  Find a twin: - What class is doing a better or a great job? - eg Mini Reunions - The class of (1960); (1965) - What class is doing a better or a great job - Class Dues - The class of (1982) - Dartmouth College Fund – Participation - The Class of (1979) - Greater % than dues!

15 14 Class Officers Weekend III.How can you get there?  Ask For Help - First - The College - They know techniques and tools that can help - Second - The Alumni leaders you are meeting today -They / we want to help and have ideas - Third - Your classmates! - You’ll be surprised how many will be excited to get involved when you ask them
