3 Noise Level 1 1.Monday 1.With your reading partner, open your Treasure Book to pages 230-231. Discuss the Talk About It.. Then, read Leo Grows UP to learn your new vocabulary words and discuss synonyms. Tuesday On page 234, talk with your partner about what a FANTASY story is about. Then, together read Farfallina and Marcel by Holly Keller. 1.Wednesday Finish reading Farfallina and Marcel. 4. Thursday Complete the comprehension activities after you have finished reading the story. 5. Friday Complete and turn in the comprehension assessment from your reading. 4 Writing Fantasy- Animals Monday This week you will write your own fantasy story based on the writing prompt at the station. Use the graphic organizer to get your thoughts down and then use your best handwriting to complete a draft that will be graded using the Writing Rubric. Tuesday and Wednesday Write your rough draft. Thursday and Friday Edit your rough draft and use the rubric to assess yourself and make improvements. If you finish early, you may type your fantasy story. Skills and Standards 2.3.6 Recognize Fantasy 2.4.8 Revise original drafts to improve sequence (the order of events) or to provide more descriptive detail. 2.5.5 Use descriptive words when writing. 2.4.7- Proofread one’s own writing Materials Needed Writing Rubric Paper Graphic Organizer Pencil Home Project Connection: Animals

5 Self-Selected Reading / Accelerated Reader Noise Level 0 1.Choose a library book or a book of choice that you have not read. 2.Be sure you picked a book that you can read alone. 3.Silently read. 4.After you finish your book, write the name of the book in your Data Binder. 5.Be sure to fill in the information about your book in your binder. 6.If you can answer all the questions in your Data Binder, get your laptop and log on to AR to take your test. 7.Record your AR score in your Data Binder..
