3 Ninth Grade – An Important year! John W. Spieser -Principal Year to build a solid foundation. GPA is important from the first day of high school. Get involved in activities. 10 years End

4 Our Goal All freshmen will pass their core content area courses. Measure and improve literacy for all freshmen. Utilize data to make decisions. Implement a plan to communicate with parents. Monitor attendance and behavioral issues and intervene before problems become significant. Create and use consistent structure among team and core teachers. Implement a program to improve study and organization skills. Celebrate student successes on a regular basis. Establish and implement an intervention plan to address academic struggles in the beginning of the school year. All freshmen will participate in an extra-curricular activity.

8 P.E. Waiver Athletic Eligibility ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY In order to be eligible to participate in athletics in grades 9- 12, a student must: be currently enrolled and must have been enrolled in school the immediately preceding grading period have received, during the preceding grading period, passing grades in a minimum of five courses, totaling at least 2.5 credits for a semester; excluding PE have attained, during the preceding grading period, a minimum grade point average of 1.51. FALL SPORTS ELIGIBILITY Eligibility to participate in fall sports is determined by grades earned in the 4th grading period of the preceding school year. A student enrolled in the first grading period after advancement from 8th grade must have passed 75% of those subjects taken in the preceding grading period in which the student was enrolled.
