Each of these applications maintains the same capabilities as when running on separate servers. In fact it is the same license bundles found in standard and enterprise editions. Avaya Aura Solution for Midsize Enterprise is a single server, end-to-end solution that streamlines Unified Communications roll-outs. It enables businesses to rapidly enhance staff productivity and to offer differentiated customer service with powerful applications. Leveraging System Platform virtualization technology, Avaya Aura Solution for Midsize Enterprise also simplifies management and lowers energy costs. Installation: single path, fast and less costly than installing everything separately. Adds simplicity of administration Such as putting in IP addresses once, consolidated single form for initial install (all IP addresses) Services: fully training on System Platform environments. Endpoints are typically using SIP, however gateways increase support for H.323, digital and analog devices Avaya Aura Conferencing scales audio, web and video conferencing Midsize Enterprise r6.1 with integrated application suite H.323 or SIP Trunk G430 Gateway Avaya Aura® Conferencing Standard Edition 6.0 * Current findings

8 Avaya Aura® Solution for Midsize Enterprise 3rd party PBX
SIP and H.323 Endpoints Comments Purpose: Optimized environment for collaboration leveraging Avaya Aura core platform. Advantages: all-in-one box, single management platform, advanced collaboration tools. Embedded applications, virtualized environment, green thumbprint Installation is 60% faster on the single server than the suite of applications done separately* Target users, 10’s of locations Keep in mind, this is a high level view. The focus here is on what you need to know to successfully speak to and deliver a Collaboration Server pilot environment for customers. I would point out a few things: . Enterprises can have pre-existing Avaya Aura Session Manager in the core. In that case, they would need to configure the Collaboration Server, which also contains s Session Manager, to determine which enables the single dialing plan & routing. . We recommend a H.323 trunk between the Communication Manager production environment and the Collaboration Server pilot environment. A customer could if they wanted to set up a SIP trunk between CS and CM, but video would not go through successfully across the two environments, although the audio portion of the call would go through -- even on video endpoints. Note with the H.323 trunk connection, you will get standard def video resolution when calling from a CS endpoint to a CM endpoint, and vice versa. . There could be an RMX video bridge hanging of off That would work. 9 Avaya Aura® Solution for Midsize Enterprise Connect to video, bolt-on to PBX
SIP and H.323 Endpoints SIP/H.323/Analog/ Digital Endpoints Comments Connect: logical migration path to SIP for the midsize customers with H.323, bolt-on to other PBX’s Expand: establish an environment to experience HD video & wideband audio endpoints firsthand, along with advanced collaboration Mobility: add Avaya one-X Mobile or one- X Communicator for remote workers This is a high level view. Enterprises can have pre-existing Avaya Aura Session Manager in the core. In that case, they would need to configure the Midsize Server, which also contains a Session Manager, to determine which enables the single dialing plan & routing. Bolt-on can be from Avaya Aura Communication Manager version 3.1.5, , and 6.x Video can be added and either an H.323 trunk to the existing PBX, or a SIP trunk. 10 SIP/UNIStim/Analog/ Digital Endpoints
Avaya Aura® Solution for Midsize Enterprise CS1000 scenario SIP and H.323 Endpoints SIP/UNIStim/Analog/ Digital Endpoints Comments Purpose Establish a trial environment to experience HD video & wideband audio endpoints firsthand Telephony Voice calls can be made between all endpoints. Video A CS video endpoint can make a point-to-point call to another CS video endpoint. Conferencing On-demand conferencing can be initiated from any CS endpoint. All video endpoints can participate in group conferences. Group dial-in conferences can be hosted by AAC on either system. Current video endpoints on the CS100 can’t make video calls to video endpoints on the Collaboration Server. In the product roadmap, CS1K 7.5 will support the SIP version of one-X Communicator in 2011. CS1000 R7.5+ Midsize Enterprise r6.2 with integrated application suite SIP Trunk G430 Gateway

17 Reference Architecture & Avaya Session Border Controller

18 The Benefits of a Reference Architecture
Allows a known reference configuration to speed time to market in the short term (faster deployment) and . . . Reduce support costs in the long term Installation wizard provides basic configs to minimize configuration for known entities Overall lower risk and cost Regularly tested solution with multiple software iterations

20 Configuration 1 – SM with centralized trunks Incoming calls are directed to the SBC, which forwards the calls to SM. SM routes the calls to the appropriate destination. Outbound calls are directed from the Access Element PBX’s to SM for call routing. 21 Configuration 2 – CM/CS1000 with centralized trunks This configuration applies to CM R5.2.1 and later releases, and applies to CS1000 R6 and later. Customer has a small number of large CM’s and has not purchased SM. Note: configuration 2 is only applicable when no SIP applications are deployed in the environment. If any application interfaces to CM/CS1000 using SIP, then Session Manager must be added to the configuration, and the customer deploys configuration 1. Applications that interface with CM via a non-SIP protocol (e.g. PRI or QSIG) are acceptable. Service Providers Connection SIP Trunks Many customers have a single, large PBX, see value in shifting from TDM trunks to SIP, and have a very fast ROI calculation. As a step in the evolution from a PBX architecture to the Avaya Aura architecture, a customer may want to deploy a SBC and convert to SIP trunks as fast as possible. Configuration 2 supports these customer’s needs. SBC Avaya AuraTM SBC or Acme Packet SBC o o o Avaya CM or CS1000 Standalone Access

22 Configuration 3 - SMEC deployments
SBC on SP end only, which can be from any vendor (not just Acme Packet). The SP might host multiple customers on a single SBC instance. A customer may own an SBC on their premise. It is allowed, but not required. Service Providers SBC Connection SIP Trunks Configuration 3 is for the Small and Medium Enterprise segment. While the arguments for a SBC apply, the realities of this market segment demand that a least cost approach is supported. While an SBC can be deployed on the customer premise, it is not required. o o o Access IP Office, BCM or SCS 22

25 Avaya SBCAE: Comprehensive UC Security
Avaya Session Border Controller Advanced for Enterprise is more than an SBC Define Security Assess Posture Implement Measures Manage Compliance Comprehensive Real-time UC security The Avaya SBCAE product is designed to address the new security requirements directly, and to make proactive security planning very simple and easy. You can think of the Avaya SBCAE as combining an entire application-layer security architecture for VoIP and UC in a single appliance. For example, the Avaya SBCAE does VoIP firewalling, policy enforcement and session border control. It scans traffic and enforces policies and conduct signature-based intrusion prevention. It detects traffic and packet anomalies and blocks or corrects them. It can conduct full encryption for an application-layer VPN to any supporting end point. If you need to monitor, log or archive communications, the Avaya SBCAE can selectively fork both the signaling and media of specific applications, without affecting any other traffic in the communication stream. Thanks to the Avaya SBCAE architecture, it can conduct all these functions with no impact on the VoIP or UC communications performance.
