1. Focus: Which civilization is most geographically blessed? Introduction: You will be real estate agents in the pre- modern world. You will be trying to sell you “real estate” (your assigned region) to a certain clientele (farmers and merchants). You must use persuasive techniques to promote the geographic benefits of your region, while downplaying the negative aspects. You will be asked to make a sales pitch to your audience and they will ultimately decide where they want to live. There are 3 parts to the project: Part 1. The Written Statement/Sales Pitch Part 2. The Visual Illustration of your region Part 3. Sales Pitch Presentations

2. Part 1 Create a persuasive written statement/sales pitch (approximately 1 page in length) in which you will use as your sales pitch during the presentation portion of this project. Your goal is to convince your audience that your geographic features are ideal for them. You must make specific reference to ALL of your geographic features (even the ones that may be problematic).

3. Part 2 Create a poster of your region that portrays it in an ideal fashion. You must DRAW your poster!! (Remember: no computers back in the day-you must use crayons, markers, etc). a.It should include a visual illustration of your region that includes its geographic features. b.It should have a catchy slogan that summarizes or highlights the good points of your region.

4. Part 3 You will be given 30 seconds to one minute to make your “sales pitch” to your prospective clients (farmers and merchants). Be sure to use your poster in your presentation.

5. Group Roles You will have 2 class days to work on this. It is expected that each group member assumes PRIMARY responsibility for various parts of the project BUT all group members should have input. Suggested Roles: 1.Writer – the statement/sales pitch 2. Artist – visual/poster 3.Presenter – sales pitch 4.Group Representative– facilitates communication with teacher. Is responsible for making sure all parts of the project are handed in AND that all group member’s names and roles are put on each part of the project. PROJECT IS DUE ON MONDAY, 9/27!
