What is an infinitive? What do all infinitives in Spanish end with?

4 To conjugate a verb, first you find the stem.
To find the stem of regular –ar verbs, you drop the AR from the end. Hablar = To speak Hablar – AR = Habl (stem) Cantar = To sing Cantar – AR = Cant (stem)

5 Write the stems for the following verbs.
Llamar (to call) = Caminar (to walk) = Bailar (to dance) = Escuchar (to listen) = Nadar (to swim) = Saltar (to jump) = Gritar (to yell) = Estudiar (to study) = Ayudar (to help) =

6 These are the endings you will use: Ink the correct subject pronoun in it’s respective spot before the = = o = amos = as = áis = a = an

7 Add the endings from the chart to the stem and you have your new word.
Once you have the stem and the ending, it’s time to conjugate. To conjugate is to join the subject pronoun and the verb to form a new word. Add the endings from the chart to the stem and you have your new word. Hablar (yo) habl (stem) + 0 (ending)= hablo (I speak) Nadar (nosotros) Nad (stem) + amos (ending) = nadamos (we swim)

8 Now, it’s your turn…ink the correct verb using the subject pronoun in parenthesis. Be sure to write what it means in English.
