4 R2 User Training (Beta) - Session II May 2, 2013 New Geographic, Location, & Temporal Terms Site An ION Site is a contiguous geographic region over which a set of related stations operation. Sites have an assigned geographic area, which is indicated in its name, for instance, Coastal Endurance Oregon Inshore or Coastal Endurance Oregon Offshore. Station An ION Station is the location of a particular top-level platform (e.g., a CG mooring or an RSN node). The type of platform that operates there is part of the Station specification, but the actual device can change over time. Instrument or Platform Portal The location that an instrument or sub-platform is connected to on a platform or station. The type of instrument or platform that operates there is part of the Portal specification, but the actual device can change over time. Deployment Assignment of a particular top-level platform to a Station for a period of time. 4

Or email helpdesk@oceanobservatories.org directlyhelpdesk@oceanobservatories.org Either way a Jira ticket is created, note that o Subject line is Title of ticket o Body of email is Description of ticket o Attachments are associated with ticket o Should receive a confirmation of ticket and that they can then "reply" to that email thread to further communicate about issue.
