Lehigh Background Info 4700 Undergraduates, 2000 grads About 12,500 undergrad applications last year Exclusively Common App (grad schools still use Banner self-service application) 3 admissions deadlines – Early Decision (Nov 15) – Early Decision II (Feb 1) – Regular Decision (Jan 1)
What IT needed to do to make this happen… Create a way for all applicants to get PINs Create a view for admissions to extract PINs for letters Some customization of self-service form Grant access to GOATPAC to select staff
What admissions needed to do… Re-write acknowledgement letter Create webpage with instructions Lots of staff training – For the person creating the letters – For the support staff answering phone calls Rethink when we needed to send out missing item letters Create process to handle missing LIN/PINs or students locked themselves out Keep security considerations in mind
