2 Landforms near them Land Lighting coming out from the clouds
What were the landforms were near by? The Apache lived near the border of Mexico so the Sierra Madre Mountains were near by them . What kind of land they lived on? The land was plains, deserts, mountains (south west U.S.A.). Land Lighting coming out from the clouds

3 Where They Live What were the Geographic Areas that they the Apache lived on? The Apache Indians were nomads. They didn’t stay in one place. Like in the south west of the U.S.A. The states that they lived on in were Texas, Arizona, and Colorado. The country that they lived on the U.S.A. Where the Apache lived

4 Tepee and Buffalo What were tepees made of? The Apache use buffalo brains, fat, and liver to make the teepee., They cleaned the hair and remove the fat. Then they sewed the buffalo fur and dry hides together with the buffalo sinew. Then they cut a door opening and sewed smoke flaps near the top of the tepee. Apaches making a tepee Buffalo hides

5 Wickiups What were the wickieup made of ? The Apache use four juniper (Young trees), Tamarisk, Cottonwood, Oak, and Sumac to make up the frame of the house. The Apache used yucca leaves, which are, fibers made into cord to make up the roof. The Apache faced east to greet the morning sun. Wickieups

6 MENS CLOTHING This is an apache man
What type of clothes did men wear? Men wore breechcloths. They were made out of deerskin, and were put between their legs. Apache men would wear buckskin, that are leggings .These buckskin leggings were decorated with beads or fringe. Men would also wear Knee- high, Mexican serape, and deerskin shawls. 7 WOMANS CLOTHING What type of clothes do women wear? Women would wear skirts. They were made of deerskin. Woman would also wear moccasins. Moccasins are a type of shoe that Inuit women wore. Women would also wear ponchos, ponchos are a type of shirt. They also had shawls just like men. Shawls were made of deerskin, and were decorated with fringe and beads for decoration too. Men and woman both wore shawls. This is the same shawl we saw in the men These are moccasins

8 Beliefs What did they believe in? They believed in the spirit Ysun who was the life giver and was the Apache god. They also believed that mountain Spirits taught the Apache. They had paintings of woman and children of the water. Spells cure the sick and allow them to have a future. They believed that their ghosts might appear in the night.

9 THEM TODAY What are their Special events today? Today many Apache Indians live like most other North Americans. In the past they practiced a different way of life.
