12 Algebra I or Algebra I HA; Geometry HA; Biology I HA The course title and grade will appear on the student’s high school transcript, so colleges can verify that the course was completed. The student will receive a credit for the course; however the grade will not factor into the student’s high school GPA. Students who earned a grade of C or C- are strongly encouraged to repeat the course in ninth grade. Students who earned a D+ or lower must repeat the course in ninth grade to remain eligible for a Core 40 with Technical or Academic Honors Diploma. The course counts towards the respective subject requirements for the Core 40 Diploma, the Core 40 with Technical Honors Diploma, and the Core 40 with Academic Honors Diploma. The course counts towards the 47 credits needed to graduate.

18 CALCULATING WEIGHTED CUMULATIVE GPA Points added to cumulative GPA based on a level factor and the number of semesters completed. Level I =.1 X # creditsearned = Level II =.2 X # credits earned = Level III=.3 X # credits earned =______ Total factor points = Total Level factor points Semesters Completed= pts. Added to GPA

19 CALCULATING CUMULATIVE GPA English 9 H2 credits Geometry Ace2 credits Geo & Hist World H2 credits TOTALS6 credits X.1 =.6 Chemistry H2 credits TOTALS2 credits X.2 =.2.6 +.2 =.8 2 Sem =.400 add on

20 CALCULATING WEIGHTED CUMULATIVE GPA Unweighted Cumulative GPA =3.500 + Weighted points added =.400 Weighted Cumulative GPA=3.900
