29  IB Diploma students with a score of 30+ will receive 30 quarter units (20 semester units) toward UC undergraduate degree.  IB Courses students will be awarded 8 quarter units (5.3) semester units) for each IB HL exam passed with a score of 5 or more.  CSU and other institutions have similar advanced placement credit policies.  IB exams classes may also fulfill prerequisites for many university-level courses.
