2. Early Drawings Andy did not like school very much. Andy's mother decided to keep Andy home. For the next 2 years, Andy and his mother spent many hours drawing pictures together. Andy would draw and paint pictures of things people saw every day, in their homes and on supermarket shelves. His paintings included dollar bills, coca-cola bottles, and Campbell's soup cans.This kind of art was called Pop Art. Andy's childhood was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Andy dropped the final a from his last name to make it Warhol-soon became one of the most famous artist in the world. He was known as the Prince of Pop.

6. Fame Under Attack Warhol had became famous throughout the world for his paintings and sculptures. Now he wanted try to make movies. Instead of (making) movies, he often just turned on his camera and let the film roll. Warhol's artwork usually confused people, and so did his movies. He said that from 1965 until 1967,he slept only two or three hours a night. A friend advised him to stop painting disasters and work on something happier so he started to paint hibiscus flowers.

8. Famous and Rich There were some pictures that he would call disasters. The shows would be in the United States such as Europe. Pasadena, California, one of Warhol's paintings was sold at Parke-Bernet, a New York auction house, for sixty thousand dollars. He made more money than other artist at an auction.

10. Last Days of Andy In 1949, he begins to work in New York City as a commercial artist. His work is shown in galleries all over New York. In 1977,First major show of New York In ten years features hammer-and-sickle paintings. In 1986,Opens show of self-portraits in London. Dies of heart attack on February 22 after gallbladder surgery.
