2. Why was Abraham Lincoln elected? One of the most important reasons to the election of Mr. Lincoln is the fact that the North really supported him. His election was obvious, due to the fact that secessionists made it clear that they wanted to leave the country and he was probably the most suitable candidate to help bring the country back together.

3. What did the people think of him? Abraham Lincoln was a very powerful and determined man considering this fact it was obvious that his strengths were acknowledged. However he also had some weaknesses such as the fact that he was not as wise in the field combat. Also in many of his campaigns his powerful speeches influenced the public to believe how prepared he was. But most importantly he was leader to the end of slavery.

4. What was his impact in the war? Many people today say that the civil war was a success for the North thanks to Abraham Lincoln! First of all he was the commander in chief and was soon recognized as having vigorous measures to help the troop succeed.

5. Why did certain people like or dislike him? The majority of the people that disliked Abraham Lincoln were the mostly from the South. Due to the fact that Abraham Lincoln desired a united nation. He also cherished human rights including for the slaves. In his opinion it was against human right to put these Africans in such labor. Citizens from the North favored this idea, probably because in the North slavery was very uncommon, but south it was a normal scenario.

6. What are some problems that he had to face? One of the biggest issues that president Lincoln had to face was his lack of military experience. He had be some what of a “step ahead” due to the vast advantage that the Southern area had, due to the fact that the commander in the South had an outstanding knowledge in this field. Also he had to endure the massive pressures of loss of lives, battlefield setbacks, generals who were not ready to fight, assassination threats, etc.

7. What was his role in this war? Due to the fact that at this period of time Abraham was the president of the U.S. obviously he was the commander in chief of all the armed services. Meaning that he was the main source for money. Mr. Lincoln was a great leader this explain his ability to balance the inseparable parts of the Union efforts. However most importantly he was able to achieve a military victory considering the fact that had little military experience.
