9 BASEBALL RULES PITCHING in MULTIPLE GAMES 9/10 thru Intermediate: May only pitch in one game per day Junior and Senior: May pitch in two games if 30 or fewer pitches thrown in first game. Big League: May pitch in two games in a day.

10 BASEBALL RULES PITCHING in SUSPENDED GAME RESUMED the NEXT DAY 9/10 thru Junior: If a pitcher pitched 20 or fewer pitches, may continue- pitch count starts at 0. If 21-40 pitches, may continue- pitch count picks up from previous game. If 41 or more pitches, not eligible. If another game intervenes, see rule 4(h) Seniors and Big League: Same except 30/60 pitches instead of20/40

11 BASEBALL RULES PITCHER RETURNING TO MOUND 9/10 thru Little League: Pitchers once removed from the mound may not return as pitchers. Intermediate thru Big League: A pitcher remaining in the game, but moving to a different position, can return as a pitcher anytime in the remainder of the game, but only once per game.

12 BASEBALL RULES PITCHER/CATCHER A pitcher who delivers 41 or more pitches in a game cannot play the position of catcher for the remainder of that day. A player who has played the position of catcher in four or more innings in a game is not eligible to pitch on that calendar day. 1 pitch counts as an inning.

13 SOFTBALL RULES Pitching Innings: 9/10 thru Little League maximum 12 per day & 12 per game. Jr thru Big League no restrictions

14 SOFTBALL RULES Pitching Rest: 9/10 thru Little League: 6 innings or fewer in a day= 0 days rest 7 innings or more in a day= 1 days rest Jr thru Big League: No restrictions

15 SOFTBALL RULES 9/10 thru Little League: Pitching consecutive games allowed subject to rest requirements Pitching consecutive days if 6 or fewer innings pitched previous day, or if pitcher of record in continuation of suspended game Jr thru Big League: Pitching consecutive games allowed

17 SOFTBALL RULES Pitcher returning to mound remaining in the game, but moving to a different position, can return as a pitcher any time in the remainder of the game, but once in the same inning as she was removed.

18 PLAYER RE-ENTRY (starter-sub) 9/10 thru Junior: Any player who has been removed for a substitute may re-enter the game in the same position in the batting order. A substitute entering the game for the first time may not be removed prior to completion of his/her mandatory play requirements. Senior and Big League: Starters may re-enter to the original batting order, substitutes may not re-enter.

19 2015 TOUNRAMENT RULES SUBSTITUTIONS Defensive: Must be made as team takes the field or while in the field. Offensive: Must be made as a player comes to bat, or while player is on base.

20 2015 TOUNRAMENT RULES CONFERENCES DEFENSIVE 9/10 thru Little League: Two per inning, pitcher must be removed from the mound on the third visit in the inning. Three per game, pitcher must be removed from the mound on the fourth visit in the game. Intermediate thru Big League: Same each pitcher has his/her own “count” of visits, which resumes if pitcher returns to mound later in the game.

21 2015 TOUNRAMENT RULES 10 RUN RULE 9/10 thru Little League: After 4 innings, 3 ½ if home team is ahead. Intermediate thru Big League: After 5 innings, 4 ½ if home team is ahead.

22 2015 TOUNRAMENT RULES 3 rd STRIKE NOT CAUGHT 9/10: Batter is out. 10/11 thru Big League: Batter is out if first is occupied with less than two outs. If first is unoccupied or there are two outs, batter becomes runner and defense must put runner out.

23 2015 TOUNRAMENT RULES ON DECK BATTERS 9/10 thru Little League: Not allowed. Only the leadoff batter is permitted outside the dugout between innings. Intermediate thru Big League: Allowed.

24 2015 TOUNRAMENT RULES SPECIAL PINCH RUNNER Allowed at all levels. Once per inning, any player not currently in the batting order may run. A player may only be removed for a special pinch runner once per game.

25 2015 TOUNRAMENT RULES Manager/Coaches 1 Manager and 2 Coaches only Base coaches: May use 2 adult coaches provided there is an adult coach in the dugout.

26 2015 TOUNRAMENT RULES PROTESTS Playing rule or improper substitution: Must be before next pitch, play or attempted play. Mandatory play: As soon as the facts become known. Ineligible pitcher or player: As soon as facts become known, but before either teams next game.
