Bloodrule, re-entry, illegal player
Bloodrule In the event of any player bleeding during the game, that player must be withdrawn from the game if the bleeding cannot be stopped within a reasonable time, or if his uniform becomes covered in blood The player must be REPLACED Replacement Player: May be any player of the team Stays replacement player for the remainder of the inning AND the following complete inning. Must be reported to the umpire. Umpire must be advised that the withdrawn player is returning to the game.
Re-entry Occurs when Starting player returns to the game. An illegal re-entry occurs when: Starting player returns to the game not in his original position in offensive line-up. Substitute returns in game after being replaced. DEFO is placed into the batting order in a position other than that of the starting DP. Starting DP is placed into the batting order in a position other than his original starting position. Effect of illegal re-entry: Illegal Re-Entry appeal. Penalty: ejection of both manager/coach and illegal Substitute
Ineligible Player. A player who may no longer legally participate in the game, because the umpire has removed him. The use of an Ineligible Player will constitute a forfeit.
Illegal Player A starting player re-enters without reporting to the umpire. Substitute entering the game without reporting to the umpire. –NOTE: When brought to the plate umpire's attention by the offended team after the first legal or illegal pitch, and before the team in violation informs the umpire, the use of the Illegal Player results in the removal of that player from the game and declaring him ineligible.
Violations Offensive Team Illegal player discovered while at bat, –A legal substitute / original starting player assumes the ball/strike count. –Any advance of runners is legal. Illegal player discovered after turn at bat - before next pitch, –The illegal player is called out, and –Any advance of runners is nullified. Illegal player discovered after turn at bat - after next pitch, –No one is out, any advance by runners is legal. Illegal player while in game as a runner, –legal substitute/original starting player returns –Any bases advanced shall be legal.
Violations Defensive Team Illegal player is discovered after making a play – before next pitch, offensive team has the option of: –Taking the result of the play, or –Having the play nullified Illegal player is detected after a pitch to the next batter, all play(s) stand. In all violations, the illegal player will be declared an ineligible player and removed from the game. NOTE: Should an ineligible player return to the game, it is declared a forfeit to the team not at fault.
Illegal Substitute. An illegal substitute is a player who has entered the game without being announced to the umpire. He can be: A player who has not previously been in the game; A declared illegal player; A declared ineligible player; An illegal re-entry; An illegal DP.
