2 An adjective describes a person, place, or thing. She wears a yellow skirt. In Spanish, the adjective MUST match the noun it is describing in GENDER and in NUMBER. La camisa amarilla El sombrero amarillo

3 In Spanish, most adjectives have a masculine and feminine form. masculinefeminine Usually ends in -o Usually ends in -a rojoroja

4 Masculine adjectives are used to describe masculine nouns. El sombrero rojo Feminine adjectives are used to describe feminine nouns. La falda negra. The “o’s” with “o’s” and “a’s” with “a’s” theory is NOT 100% true. There are some rules you MUST LEARN !!

5 Adjectives that end in –e match both genders. La bufanda verde. El suéter verde. Most adjectives that end in a consonant match both genders. La bufanda azul el vestido azul

6 When talking about something that is plural, the adjective that describes it must be PLURAL as well. Las bufandas rosadas Unos calcetines grises. Unos sombreros rojos. To make a word plural:  if it ends with a vowel: add –”s”  if it ends with a consonant: add –”es”
