2 Description and how its made  Flax is any plant of the genus Linum, especially L. usitatissimum, a slender, erect, annual plant having narrow, lance-shaped leaves and blue flowers, cultivated for its fiber and seeds.  Flax can grow in a variety of climates, but it flourishes in cool, damp environments. So, for instance, in warmer regions flax is sown in the winter so that harvesting can be undertaken before the heat of early spring. Because it requires demands a lot of organic components, flax grows best in deep loams and alluvial soils such as the Nile River valley.

3 Advantages and disadvantages  Advantages of linen can be worn in any kind of weather. It can even be worn in a hot and humid weather, because it is highly absorbent. Pattern clothing makes you feel fresh because it is not sticky and removes skin perspirations. Linen clothing can be tailored without any tro it adds to charm and trendiness to any attire. Being a stylish fabric, you can buy nicely printed pattern clothing and look extremely fashionable.  Disadvantages It wrinkles and creases easily which can make you look untidy. It is best not to fold linen clothing for storage, you should hang it. Another disadvantage is that pattern clothing is a little more expensive than cotton; making cotton products more desirable.

4 General uses  Flax fibers are used to make linen.  The stem fiber of flax makes a fine parchment paper.  Flax is usually used for its oil and seeds

5 Cleaning and care methods  Always wash your linen clothes on your machine’s gentle cycle. If it is possible to select the water level in the washing machine, always use the maximum offered. Your clothing should move freely.  Linen clothes as well as other home textile items made of linen has to be washed in cool or lukewarm temperatures – never in cold or hot.  Always try to dry your linen clothes flat. Hangers or clothespins can cause marks on the fabric and also cause deformation of the garment.  If there is a need for ironing, iron your linen clothes while slightly damp.
