4 Future of the invention  The first sewing machine made is probably very rusty by now.  It would probably look Very, very rusty in ten years.

5 History of invention  Made in England in 1790.  Invented by French Tailor Barthemy Thimonier in 1846.  Patented by Elias Howe.  He was payed 5 dollars for each sewing machine sold.  In 1841 he used 80 of these machines to make uniforms for the French army.  Others like Isaac Merrit Singer made slight modifications of the machine and built successful businesses.  It was invented because we need to sew things faster.
