2 MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS, STATISTICS AND INFORMATICS (MESI) MESI was founded in 1932 and became one of the top Russian universities nowadays with wide experience and strong scientific traditions with innovative process of training professionals in economics, management, statistics, information technology, law and humanities. MESI is distinguished from other colleges due to its active use of e- learning technology. MESI today is a venue for 100 thousands students including about 15 thousands foreign learners from 52 countries. MESI is the only Russian higher educational institution to be a member of the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU) MESI has a solid basis for R&D, centered at its creative scientific schools: statistics and econometrics; application of mathematic methods, information technologies in economic research, management and education; finance, credit and currency; economics; knowledge and intellectual capital management; e-learning.

3 MORE FIGURES An 80-year experience in training staff the first Russian university to receive international certification under ISO 9001:2000 standard 15 departments offering Bachelor’s degrees and 12 departments offering Master’s degrees the opportunity to obtain two state diplomas, from MESI and a foreign college 100% of workstations for students and faculty are equipped with computers MESI annually holds about 30 large All-Russian olympiads, conferences, and seminars, with a total number of participants around 4,000 MESI’s research and methodology base consists of more than 320,000 items Foreign students studying under the curriculum to the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation with their education paid for with the funds allocated from the federal budget receive the same living allowance as Russian students. 7 TOURISM AS AN ECONOMIC ACTIVITY КНР Russian FederationChina GDP: DIRECT CONTRIBUTION The direct contribution of Travel & Tourism to GDP was RUB 860.1bn (1.4% of total GDP) in 2012, and is forecast to rise by 6.9% in 2013, and to rise by 4.7% pa, from 2013-2023, to RUB1,455.1bn in 2023 (in constant 2012 prices). The direct contribution of Travel & Tourism to GDP was CNY1,361.9bn (2.6% of total GDP) in 2012, and is forecast to rise by 7.8% in 2013, and to rise by 8.7% pa, from 2013-2023, to CNY3,384.8bn in 2023 (in constant 2012 prices). EMPLOYMENT: DIRECT CONTRIBUTION In 2012 Travel & Tourism directly supported 966,500 jobs (1.4% of total employment). This is expected to rise by 4.4% in 2013 and rise by 0.6% pa to 1,068,000 jobs (1.6% of total employment) in 2023. In 2012 Travel & Tourism directly supported 22,756,500 jobs (3.0% of total employment). This is expected to rise by 0.1% in 2013 and rise by 1.4% pa to 26,228,000 jobs (3.3% of total employment) in 2023. *data from annual report of WTTC
