2 What is Production? This phase covers the actual shooting of the material that will become the video program. Directly builds from the planning and storyboarding in your Pre-Production Phase Requires collaboration with director, technicians, and performers.

5 Whoa…keep it steady CAMERA TECHNIQUES – when you don’t have a tripod:  Become a human tripod – elbows tucked into body and cradle camera in hands  Brace yourself on something…lean elbows or body on a wall, table, etc.  To shoot low angles, sit with the camera firmly in your lap  Avoid walking while shooting OR use long steady strides, bend knees slightly and use your body as a tripod  Shoot wide – the wider the angle the less obvious camera shake

7 If you can’t hear or see…. LIGHTING TIPS 1) If shooting indoor, use lamps or light kits (artificial) or let in some sun (natural) 2) If shooting outdoors, block the sun – reflectors/poster boards or use some shade SOUND TIPS 1) Use a headphone to hear the recording to your camera 2) If using a microphone, get close to your talent to avoid background noise Video is nothing without quality light and sound….use these tips for more professional looking productions.
