4 read / research research areas of interest using “research interest” or staff profiles on faculty web site read through previous ILP projects listed on ILP web site talk to previous ILP students talk to staff members / facilitators arrange meeting with me (room 507 WWB, 9385 1580

5 short list make a short-list arrange meeting do your research before you meet ! -– know what the potential supervisor does - have an idea in mind listen

6 decide Work through the options Take into consideration –Type of work –Supervisor –Back-up / support

7 Plan Make a plan in collaboration with your intended supervisor Adapt this plan for the ILP submission form

8 ILP Options: Streaming for specialist training in Pathology and Radiology Need 65% WAM after Phase 1 and clinical courses of Phase 2 Undertake ILP (or Hons) in area related to Pathology or Radiology Then enrol in 8-week cross-disciplinary elective course in Phase 3 (to be developed), agreed activities during PGY1 and a 10 week term during PGY2 This would result in a reduction of 1 year in the radiology or pathology specialist training More info from Prof Rakesh Kumar 9385 2535 /r.kumar@unsw.edu.au

9 Rural Clinical School scholarships ILP scholarships ($3000 scholarships, 4 per year for three years) Coffs Harbour, Wagga Wagga, Albury or Port Macquarie for projects targeting Parkinson’s Disease.
