2 Birth Born in 115 B.C. Born a Roman citizen

3 Sulla’s Civil War 83-82 Having to escape out of Rome when opposing militants posed a threat to the Republic. Sulla must regroup out of Italy. Crassus is given command of part of the right wing invading Rome

4 Sulla’s Civil War 83-82 Cont.

5 Rise to Wealth and Power After Sulla’s conquest and capture of Rome, Crassus is given several opportunities to make a fortune. Selling stolen properties and renovating them created Crassus’s immense fortune. Stolen slaves were to be sold at a high price, allowing a constant flow of profit.

6 Political Rise Elected to council with his rival Pompy. Elected for a single year, only allowed to return to political power after ten years.

7 Spartacus vs. Crassus Slave rebellion started by Spartacus from 73 B.C. – 71 B.C. Several failed attempts at silencing the revolts by other famous generals. Crassus offers to train and assemble his own army, using his own funds. Crassus proved to be harsh, but affective.

8 Spartacus vs. Crassus Cont. Pompey arrives to irradiates Spartacus. Pompey’s armies take credit and win several battles, making Pompey famous.
