2 June 4 1920 The majority of people from these territories were Magyars The treaty was received in much bitterness in Hungary The territories were surrendered to Czechoslovakia, Poland, Yugoslavia, and a large area called Transylvania to Rumania. Hungary lost over two thirds of its territory's

3 It was signed at the Trianon Palace in Versailles, France. The Austrian Hungarian monarchy delayed signing the treaty with the allied powers excluding U.S.A and Russia(which did not sign). Hungary was deprived of access to the sea and of some of its most valuable natural resources They were reduced to an army size of 35,000

4 Territories Romania received Transylvania and Banat, including Timisoara. Czechoslovakia was approved in possession of Slovakia and Ruthenia. Yugoslavia (then the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes) obtained Croatia, Slavonia, and the western section of the Banat. 5 Downfall For Hungary The Hungarian delegation signed the treaty under protest. Hungarian agitation for revision began immediately and was supported by 3 million Magyars transferred to Romania, Yugoslavia, and Czechoslovakia. Hungary had to make reparations payments to Allied nations to compensate for war damages but not as much as Germanys debt due to the war damages
