Revolution and urbanization The Event(s) – Citizens strike and protest; troops open fire (Bloody Sunday) Results of 1905 Revolution – Duma (elected legislature) is established – Land and education reforms – Distrust towards the Tsar

3 March Revolution of 1917 Problems before the March Revolution of 1917 – The Duma fails; therefore, reforms of 1905 fail – Corruption in Russia increases; Distrust for Tsar continues – WWI takes its toll; casualties, shortages, etc. The Event(s) – Citizens strike and protest; however, troops refuse to fire Results of March Revolution of 1917 – Tsar abdicates (leaves the throne) – Temporary government installed; constitutional democracy – WWI continues

4 November Revolution of 1917 Problems before the November Revolution of 1917 – Peasants want land reform – Industrial workers want to end food, fuel, work shortages – Citizens want to exit WWI The Event(s) – Troops mutiny and desert at the front lines of WWI – Peasants begin to seize land from upper-class – Lenin and Bolsheviks takeover cities and provisional govt Results of November Revolution of 1917 – Redistribution of land – Factory workers take control of the factories and mines
