6 Content Synopsis Athlete functional mechanics - L earn how to decrease the risk of injuries by understanding hip, knee and ankle function in running. Gain an understanding of the stability and mobility required in joint structures and simple exercises to improve your athletes performance Mechanics in speed for explosive force - Learn the correct mechanics required including foot strike, foot recovery, change of direction mechanics including acceleration and deceleration. Acceleration and linear speed - A practical session where the coaches become the athletes and experience techniques and drills presented in the theory presentation relating to acceleration and straight line speed. Recovery and regeneration - Learn current practices in recovery and how to put simple after training / game techniques together for your athletes.

7 Resistance training for explosive force – (1)Learn the best modes of training to develop explosive force. Learn what equipment can be used in the gym, on the field / court. We will discuss the importance of resistance training to repeat sprint ability and explosive speed. (2) A practical session where the coaches become the athletes and experience techniques and drills presented in the theory presentation. Plyometrics and Core Strength – (1)Learn the science and application of plyometric training. Learn which exercises are appropriate for varying sports and positions and how to implement them safely into a weekly training unit. Learn the importance of the core as a foundation of maximum athletic performance, discover what the ‘new core’ looks like for athletic conditioning and best practice modes of development. (2) A practical session where the coaches become the athletes and experience techniques and drills presented in the theory presentation Content Synopsis continued
