We use the S6503/S6502 to beat the C4503, the S6506 to beat the C4506, the S6506R to beat the C4507R and the S8508 or S8512 to beat the C4510R. The engines of Cisco 4500 fall into two types: Layer 2/3/4 Supervisors: They support routing protocols such as BGP/IS-IS/OSPF/EIGRP, the Netflow feature and the 128K routing table. Layer 2-Plus Supervisors: They support RIPv1/v2 and static routes but not OSPF/BGP/IS-IS or the Netflow feature. They have only 32K route entries and only support 2K VLANs and mainly provide a low-cost, high-density access solution.

29 Conclusion-S7500 Advantages
Price performance ratio. S7500 reaches up to 768Gbps switching capacity for the fabric compared to Catalyst 45 ‘s 136Gbps H3C S7500 has the maximum 1.68Tbps backplane bandwidth, which is several times bigger than Catalyst 45’s. It have a maximum of 24 10GE ports, Catalyst 45 has very limited 10 GE ports and require hardware upgrades. RPR and EPON support, which makes it applicable in Service Provider networks High port density for wire speed GE ports of up to 292,while Catalyst is limited. Customers looking for a high port density switch with rich features to deploy in the wiring closet positioning for GE to Desktop solution, have a perfect answer-S7500 series. Separate the advantages and make them clearer

30 Conclusion-Application example
EPON IPTV solution IEEE 802.3ah compliant Deploying point-to-multiple points fiber access Supporting OAM Supporting dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) Providing up to 1:32 split ratio, 20km transmission distance H3C S7500 has various advanced features and it’s carrier class architecture puts on top for various network applications. EPON is just one of the many examples I can sight here. It provides a cost effective solution for Service providers as well as Cable TV providers. 31 Conclusion-Key Points Against C4500
All Switching (Layer-2 or Layer-3) carried out by Supervisor Engine No Local Switching on the blades, all traffic goes to the Supervisor Supervisor II+ is for network access due to poor Layer 3 support/performance, Supervisor IV & V aimed at larger enterprise networks Advanced QOS and Jumbo Frames only carried out on Ports with 1:1 link to supervisor II, III & IV 6 Port Gig modules Only 6 Gigabit links from each blade to Supervisor Engine 8:1 Blocking on 48 Port Blades 4:1 Blocking on 24 Port Blades PoE modules highly blocking Poor investment protection OSPF through additional $9,995 upgrade (Sup IV, V and V-10GE only) New Chassis just re-spin of legacy Catalyst 4000 Supervisor VI engine or above required to support 4507R Supervisor V or V-10GE required for 4510R

32 Conclusion-Key Points Against C4500
The Catalyst 4500 is based on old technology and is limited to 6Gbps backplane performance for each line card and has no upgrade path. H3C’s 7500 backplane can rich 1.68Tbps The Catalyst 4500 line cards use simple MUX technology to multiplex many front panel ports into the 6 Gigabit backplane connections, this means that every packet must traverse the backplane even if its destination port is on the same line card. S7500 line cards all provide local Layer2 switching thus minimizing latency and the amount of traffic that passes across the backplane. The Catalyst 4500 can only support a maximum or 6 wire speed Gigabit ports per slot for a total 32 for the 4507R or 48 for the 4510R. The Catalyst 4500 requires and optional software upgrade costing $9,995 to support OSPF. S7500 supports OSPF as Standard at no extra charge.

33 Conclusion-Points to Avoid.
H3C S7500 Cisco Catalyst 4500 Nonstop Forwarding (NSF) with Stateful Switchover (SSO) NO Provides dual supervisor engines with sub second failover. L2 sessions remain up. L3 forwarding continues during a routing event Dynamic ARP Inspection YES, Identity Spoofing with Gratuitous ARP Packets IP Source Guard YES, prevent spoofing IP address Control Plane Policing ? Provides a unified solution to rate limit the CPU-bound control plane traffic in hardware. Prevent DOS attack to CPU MAC Authentication Upon detecting a new MAC address on a switch port, the switch will proxy an 802.1x authentication request based on the device's MAC address. Provides network access to agentless devices without 802.1x supplicant capabilities. Traffic Shaping No Yes
