2 The U.S. Government The three branches of government are the Legislative, the Executive, and the Judicial branch , 6, 7 Congress is made up of two groups, Senate + House of Representatives. The President signs the new law and makes sure it’s carried out The Judicial branch decide if the law had been broken

3 The Legislative Branch
The Legislative branch is made up of two parts. One group of people are called the House of Representatives. Another group is called Senate.

4 In the House of Representatives there are 435 representatives.
Congress Senate House of Representatives People who work in the House of Representatives are called representatives. Both representatives and senators are elected by the people of their states to work in Congress. They have to live in the state they represent. People who work in the Senate are called senators. Both representatives and senators are elected by the people of their states to work in Congress. You have to be 30 years old to be a Senator. You have been a citizen for the past nine years. Did you know… In the House of Representatives there are 435 representatives.

5 Congress (together) Congress is made up of two parts which together make the Legislative Branch. Congress is made up of senators and representavies.

6 Judicial Branch The Judicial branch of makes sure laws are fair and constitutional. The Supreme court is where they meet up at. Nine judges serve on the Supreme court. Did you know… The Judicial branch is also known as “the Judiciary branch”. It decides if the laws agree with the U.S. Constitution.

Executive Branch The Executive branch signs and enforces laws. Other powers include serving as the head of our armed forces and making treaties with other nations. The president is the leader of the country. The vice president and cabinet members advise the president. The building is the Supreme Court. 8 The Supreme Court It’s made out of marble. It’s in Washington D.C.

9 How the Branches are alike
They all have priority over us. They all are a part of the U.S.A. government. They’re just like a king and that’s why we got away. Did you know… That we did a war vs. England? To get away from a king? And you are one.
