Row 1, Col 1 What are the 3 layers of the earth in order from outer earth to inner earth? 1. Crust, 2. Mantle, 3. Core

1,2 Give two examples of Metamorphic Rocks Slate, Gneiss, Marble, Quartz, Schist

1,3 Give two examples of a sedimentary rock Sandstone, Limestone, Shale, Conglomerate, Coal

1,4 Give two examples of Igneous Rocks Obsidian, Granite, Pumice, Basalt, Pegmatite

2,1 What causes plates to move? The mantle gets hot then cools down which causes them to move

2,2 What are 3 properties or characteristics of Metamorphic Rocks? Hard, Dark colored, light colored, light, heavy, crystaly

2,3 What are 3 properties or characteristics of Sedimentary rocks? Dark, heavy, light colored, bumpy, smooth

2,4 Give 3 properties/characteristics of a igneous rock Hard, soft, smooth, rough, dark, thick, thin, black, heavy, light

3,1 How do volcanoes erupt? Too much magma builds up in the volcano so it erupts

3,2 How is this rock formed? A sedimentary or Igneous rock gets pressed and buried deep in the ground. The changes are from heat+time+pressure=metamorphic rock

3,3 How is this rock formed? Sediments get carried by water, wind, or ice. Then they get cemented together to form a sedimentary rock.

3,4 How is this rock formed? When lava splurts out of a volcano and eventually hardens and cools to form an igneous rock

4,1 About many centimeters do earth’s plates move every year? 1-12 centimeters a year

4,2 What are metamorphic rocks used for? Statues, counter tops, pillars, chalk boards

4,3 What are Sedimentary rocks used for? Landscaping, stepping stones, buildings, trims

4,4 How are Igneous rocks used? Monuments, statues, pillars

5,1 When plates crash together what is it called? Earthquake

5,2 What is Metamorphosis? The act of changing

5,3 Why would you use sedimentary rocks for landscaping Because the stones are strong but pretty

5,4 Why isn’t pumice used to make bulidings? Because it is very weak and light weight so it can’t hold things up?

F Fun Joke Why did the chicken cross the crust? To get to the Mantle!!!LOL

Why couldn’t the alien from Venus say hi to his friend on pluto with his HAM radio? Because Pluto isnt a planet anymore, and Pluto channel wasn’t on the radio anymore!!!
