Action Items from November ‘08 meeting ItemsResponsible There was a suggestion to make up a kit or something that will catch the attention of people when at these events. If anyone has any ideas, please contact Chris. All IAB members What more can the IAB do to help LSSU? Morrie W & Eric B Eric could provide an update on what is happening at the PDC, that would be great. Eric B There needs to be a change to the IAB role statement to change the wording of “Department of Engineering and Mathematics” to the “Department of Engineering and Technology”.Fred B

engineering.lssu.edu Chair’s Report State of the industry  Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? IAB members on the move  Matt Witte has left Chrysler and was technically a consultant as of December 2008. He currently works at the University of Toledo as a Research Engineer. Matt can be reached via email at: wit@TC3net.com.  Dave Allison from Dura has taken a position at Wayne Wire in Kalkaska. Dave can be reached at: dallison@WayneWire.com. Phone 231-258-0572  Adam Lyon from Dura has taken a position at Bio Fiber Solutions in Georgia at: Phone: 706 -346- 9026. Adam’s email is: adam.lyon@otrwheel.com

engineering.lssu.edu Recruiting/Press Kit Purpose The purpose of the recruiting/press kit is to provide current information about the LSSU Engineering and Technology program to the Admissions counselors and IAB volunteers for the following efforts: Recruiting MACRAO Events Coffee table display on campus at the Admissions office for visitors. Engineering and Technology office display.

engineering.lssu.edu Recruiting/Press Kit Content/Sections Section 1: Engineering and Technology Highlight Sheets. Section 2: Student organizations and competitions. Section 3: Senior Project brochures. Section 4: Pictures of Labs and Senior Projects. Section 5: Summer Camp Information Section 6: Mini CD Section 7: Employers and Graduate School listing. Section 8: Engineering and Technology Job Descriptions. Section 9: Alumni Section

engineering.lssu.edu Recruiting/Press Kit Next Steps Review the concept at today’s meeting. Who is the owner? Any revisions based on today’s review? Make revisions. Quantity required? Create finished binders and have available on or before August 21, 2009. Must be a living document, to be reviewed annually, and updated as needed by the owner. THANK YOU to ALL who helped and provided content for this effort.

engineering.lssu.edu 2009 Spring MACRAO Update We had good representation this spring for the MACRAO events. Positive feedback on all events attended. The Recruiting/Press Kit will be a distinct advantage beginning for the Fall 2009 MACRAO events. THANK YOU to all who volunteered and participated.
