5 what’s Rochester Pride, you ask?

6 Well…

7 McClelland is proud that… their students are respectful and have a superior vocabulary regarding character education. They have the tools and use them especially when out of the building on trips, concerts, etc.

8 McClelland is proud that… their students are creative and artistic, that the specialists work very hard to surround their students with arts based education that supports their classroom learning and 4 th /5 th grade had over 90% participation in band/chorus!

9 McClelland is proud that… their students are leaders and that they have a great student leadership team that works hard to seek out problem areas in their school and create/implement fabulous solutions that make their school better!

10 McClelland is proud that… their school has an awesome whole school morning meeting each week that binds them together as a community. This has been a great time management tool and time saver for them in regards to assemblies and also helps them to get unified communication to all. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend!

11 McClelland is proud that… their staff has an effective collaborative approach that is used in terms of decision making and the family atmosphere that is conveyed by the caring that takes place and all the fun activities.

12 McClelland is proud that… their school culture is very strong and due in large part to a very active and enthusiastic PBIS team.

13 McClelland is proud that… they were the recipient of a $1,200 grant from Lowes. This grant is being used to improve the outside grounds of the school. Representatives from Lowes, staff, students and PTA members will be collaborating to improve the outside look of the school to boost school culture.

14 McClelland is proud that… they effectively implement and practice sound math fact fluency consistently throughout our curriculum. This was evident when their school team won the Mathalon as well as their student, Kyle Levine, who won 1 st place in the Mathalon!

15 McClelland is proud that… they offer “family” oriented activities such as Craft Night, October Fall Walk and Saturday Fall Festival.

16 McClelland is proud that… their school community is dedicated to the excellence of student achievement, both academically and emotionally.

17 William Allen is proud that… they started PBIS Universal Team and have completed many successful roll outs!

18 William Allen is proud that… in May 2012 they held the 2 nd Annual Geography Bee!

19 William Allen is proud that… in March 2012 they held the 3 rd Annual Writing Celebration!

20 William Allen is proud that… in May 2012 they held the 1 st Annual School Pride Day!

21 William Allen is proud that… they were featured in ASCD Smart Brief for implementing iPads into the learning environment!

23 William Allen is proud that… their 2011 – 2012 third graders are published authors.

24 William Allen is proud that… they rolled out (and continue to) Math Fact Fluency!

25 William Allen is proud that… this year they are focusing on the PBIS Target Team.

33 East Rochester is proud that… they have caring adults who understand that a student can’t learn unless basic needs are met and go about filling those needs.

35 East Rochester is proud that… they have a generous staff and students who join together to support people and agencies in need through the donation of time, products and money.

36 School Street School is proud that… they made AYP for 2 consecutive years in Reading and Math and are no longer a SINI – one of a few in the state who got off “the list”!

37 School Street School is proud that… they find ways to support their families through personal connections, social work, by knowing all of their students, friendly environment, breaking down barriers from past negative experiences, afterschool monthly clubs on Thursdays: Game Club, Lego Club, Cooking Club, Art Club etc.

38 School Street School is proud that… they hold monthly assemblies: Whole School Assemblies – recognizing academic & personal accomplishments of students and staff.

39 School Street School is proud that… they have Caroline, who is the “best cook”!

40 School Street School is proud that… they use Title I staff supports to improve learning outcomes!

41 School Street School is proud that… they have 8 raised vegetable and flower garden beds planted and maintained by the Garden Club.

42 School Street School is proud that… they partnered with UNH for the Storm Water Drain Project – rain gardens.

59 RMS is proud that… the RMS multi-grade teachers have planned a Pen Pal program which will be implemented in September.

60 RMS is proud that… while the “official” rollout of competencies will be in September 2013, several departments are well on their way in developing competencies and rubrics.

61 RMS is proud that… during the summer of 2012, the RMS Administrative Team developed a new meeting schedule which will allow the Assistant Principals an opportunity to meet with each team weekly.

62 RMS is proud that… the RMS staff is reaching out to new teachers by highlighting “Tips for New Teachers”.

63 RMS is proud that… based on staff feedback, the RMS Administrative Team has developed a rubric that is aligned with the Behavior Reporting Form to provide a higher level of student consistency.

64 SHS is proud that… ROTC has a large number of incoming freshmen that have already been in the building this summer and are excited to join this high quality program.

65 SHS is proud that… Joanne Houston was named NH Band Director of the Year.

66 SHS is proud that… they continue to offer and extend Collaborative Classes!

67 SHS is proud that… they received CTSO National accomplishments: Skills USA, FBLA, FCCLA as well as outstanding representation at national conferences.

87 Rochester Athletics is proud that… our Unified Soccer Team in 2011 – 2012 won the first ever NHIAA State Championship.

88 Rochester Athletics is proud that… three teams (football, boys’ basketball, ice hockey) qualified and played in the semi-finals in their respective sports.

100 Special Education is proud that… the Early Childhood Education Program has expanded into the community to include 48 more students.

101 Special Education is proud that… the Rochester Learning Academy brought back student into the Rochester Community and will continue efforts to keep students in Rochester.

102 Special Education is proud that… a new Autism Program and re- vamped Hope Program will be expanding to the Gonic Mill.

103 Special Education is proud that… they have increased the use of iPad technology for students with disabilities.

104 Special Education is proud that… the SHS Skills Classes are a model of collaboration between regular and special education staff.
