6 The HARAPPAN and VEDIC cultures spread eastwards to the GANGA valley. The BRAHMINS considered themselves as superior in society. Among the other VARNAS, the KSHATRIYAS were unhappy with such an altitude. But, the common people were unhappy.

7 1.BRAHMINS and KSHATRIYAS occupied an Important position in the society. 2.Untouchables were neglected in society. 3.Social equality caused lost of unhappiness. 4.Their was increases in rituals and animal sacrifcies. 5.Common people did not know SANSKRIT. 6.People did not understand the rituals and prayers.

8 1.The system of VARNAS had been accepted by the VEDIC RELIGION. 2.Among the others VARNAS, KSHATRIYAS were unhappy with such as attitude. 3. But, the KSHATRIYAS considered themselves as superior to the VAISHYAS and SHUDRAS. 4.This social inequality caused lot of unhappiness and uneasiness among various sections of people. 5. There was a neglected section in the society called the untouchables.

9 1.He was the founder of JAINISM. 2.He was born in the year 599B.C at VAISHALI[modern VESAD] in the present state of BIHAR. 3.He was 24 th THIRTHANKARA. 4. His father name was SIDDARTHA and mother name was THRISHALADEVI. 5. He married YASHODHA. 6. His deep thought was know as SUPEREME KNOWLEDGE or KEVALA JNANA.

10 1.He was the founder of BUDDHISM. 2.He was know as ‘LIGHT OF ASIA’. 3.He was born in the year 567B.C in the JANAPADA[GANARAJYA]of the SHAKHYAS. 4. He was the son of SHUDDHODANA. 5. After his birth BUDDHA lost his mother MAYADEVI. 6. His step- mother PRAJATI GAUTAMI brought him up. 7. He married YASHODHARA and his son name was RAHUL.

11 1.Life is not perfect and full of misery. 2.For all misery or sorrow, greed is the main cause. 3.Greed must be given up. 4.To give up greed one must follow 8 th fold path. These ideas are called the ‘ARYA SATHYAS’. 5.He sat under the PIPAL tree and was ENLIGHTEN. 6.The PIPAL tree was called as BODHI tree.

12 . THE EIGHT FOLD PATH. 1.Right conversation. 2.Right deeds. 3.Right calling. 4.Right exertion. 5.Pure mental outlook. 6.Right contemplation [DHYANA]. 7.Appropriate decisions. 8.Right outlook.

13 1.One has to give up worldly pleasures to attain solution. 2.Our suffering and sorrow are because of deeps of previous birth. 3.To give up taking of liquor and meat. 4.Not to steal[ASTHYA]. 5.To be truthful. 6.To practice non-violence. 7.Man should earn only as much as needs.

Untouchables and social equality causes unhappiness.Increase in rituals and sacrifices.People did not understand sanskrit and prayers.After this at 6th century in INDIA buddhism and jainism came in to existence.Then scholars from CHINA was Confucius, zoroaster was from PERSIAN.Then JAINISM started.Then MAHAVEERA was know as ‘JINA’.He was 24th THIRTHANKARA..He is called as MAHAVEERA because he conquered Indriyas, 23rdTHIRTHANKARA was PORSHVANATHA.MAHAVEERA Was born in VAISHALI and was the son of SIDDARTHA and TRISHALA DEVI. He married YASHODHARA and became sanyasi at the age of 30th. He was know as ‘KEVALA JNANA’ it means supreme knowledge he thought in common man language. The two types of JAINISM are DIGANBARAS and SWETHAMBARAS.PAMPA and RANNA were poets

17 SIDDHRATHA started a religion called BUDDHISIM. It is know as LIGHT OF ASIA. SIDDHRATHA was born in the year 567B.C. He was a son of SHUDDHODANA and MAYA DEVI. Buddha means ENLIGHTED.He married YASHODHARA and son born to him was RAHUL.He became sanyasi and sat under pipal tree.He teached in a Common mans language.The followers of BUDDHASIM are BIMBASARA and AJATASHATRU. Two sets are HEENAYAMA and MAHAYANA.
