Hands-on Computing® November 2013 Agile EC implementation @N-trig

1 N-trig Proprietary and Confidential Hands-on Computing® 2 N-trig at a glance  Founded: 1999  First to offer integrated active pen and capacitive multi-touch solution ‒ Leveraging the company’s DuoSense® technology and protected by strong patent portfolio  Global organization – 190 employees worldwide ‒ Headquarters and R&D center in Kfar Saba, Israel ‒ Supply chain management and customer support in Taipei, Tokyo and Kunshan ‒ Sales and OEM support in Austin, Tokyo and Taipei  Traction to date ‒ Above 4 millions systems shipped ‒ 56 design wins with leading consumer electronic vendors ‒ Key OEM customers and partners include: ‒ Premier investor backing

1 N-trig Proprietary and Confidential Hands-on Computing® 3 DuoSense ® – a complete solution with a single sensor DuoSense®: Complete solution with a single sensor Active Pen  Natural writing feel  Advanced palm rejection  Hover and pressure sensitivity  High resolution & accuracy  10-finger multi-touch  Optimized noise immunity – touch that always works Multi-Touch  Slimmer & lighter devices  Lower power consumption  Minimized R&D efforts  Reduced total cost of ownership Single Sensor Controller

1 N-trig Proprietary and Confidential Hands-on Computing® 5 Look and feel – marketing definition באופן תאורטי.... N-trig generic

1 N-trig Proprietary and Confidential Hands-on Computing® 6 Look and feel –ובאופן מעשי....  Same “cores” (platforms) with many products each  Different ID, per customer’s definitions  ECOs during product life – “core” and ID

1 N-trig Proprietary and Confidential Hands-on Computing® 7 N-trig work, before EC implementation request Agile PLM team for parts numbers manually insert part numbers to drawing Send production file (step and pdf formats) to Agile PLM team by mail Agile PLM team to run ECO

1 N-trig Proprietary and Confidential Hands-on Computing® 8  SolidWorks files were saved on server. ‒ Multi-users per file was problematic (authorizations…)  Versions and revisions were saved separately in Agile (pdf/step) and on the server (SW files) ‒ Sync was done manually  Endless discussions between Agile PLM team and ME team on the best work process ‒ Difficult configuration and versions control ‒ Endless status aligning between two systems ‒ Process/documentation control manner - ‘design house’ vs. ‘production floor’  As N-trig is a growing company with increased numbers of products, PDM system is essential to avoid mistakes ‒ MP lines produce 1000’s of units per day. Wrong material may cause loss of many $$ N-trig work, before Agile EC implementation

1 N-trig Proprietary and Confidential Hands-on Computing® 9 A few facts…  N-trig PLM is Agile  Multi-disciplines products – ME, HW, SW  Agile PLM works well for HW and SW  ME configurations are complex and confusing. For example: ‒ Same part, different colors/texture, printed logo ‒ Common parts for all products vs. specific parts per product

1 N-trig Proprietary and Confidential Hands-on Computing® 10 Agile EC vs. PDM ME PDMAgile EC Versions/revision control – engineering level ++ Versions/revision control – PLM level ManualAutomatic Publish ECOPLM managerPLM manger / ME – flexibility Item number generatorאומרים שיש תוכנות תיאום עם PLM... Automatic - Common with PLM Differentiation between engineering and PLM level + (No connectivity…) + We knew that both PDM systems and EC are a big step forward But… we felt EC was a complete automated solution for N-trig

1 N-trig Proprietary and Confidential Hands-on Computing® 11 Integrated into SolidWorks, same as any other PDM EC implementation

1 N-trig Proprietary and Confidential Hands-on Computing® 12 EC implementation

1 N-trig Proprietary and Confidential Hands-on Computing® 13 The status today  Agile EC module is successfully implemented in N-trig. This system is definitely more than PDM!  PLM connectivity advantage ‒ We were able to implement our processes into the system so today everything runs automatically ‒ ME team initiate the ECOs - Can be published in Agile by both ME and PLM team ‒ Priviledges can be used for specific limitations to avoid PLM mess ‒ All needed file formats are automatically generated and saved to PLM. Connectivity between SW files and pdf/step formats is kept in the system ‒ The burden from PLM team was reduced (mainly because ME team does not argue with them anymore )  PDM capabilities ‒ Design maintenance is mush easier as everyone can modify everything in the system ‒ RnD activities are managed in the system but not reflected to PLM ‒ Everything is saved in 1 vault ‒ All other PDM advantages  The system is getting better – not as fast as we want it but fast enough
