Given those change dynamics the 2001 product line is as follows: Leading innovation in performance and function providing high value solutions that drive business results.
As you can see on the chart our products provide a full line of monchrome laser printers to fit your needs in performance, functuionality and print solutions.
We start with our E312 series which is our entry into the personal desktop laser space. Both printers are 10 ppm with the E312 offering standard 4MB memory, a 6K print cartridge and USB and PostScript standard. The E312L comes standard with 2MB memory, a 1.5K print cartridge and is Mac and Windows compatible.
We have a full complement of products from the T520 on up to the W820 with duplex and MFP capabilities.
Also we have finishing capabilities from the T620 on up to the Lexmark W820.
The Lexmark T family offers high performance from the entry level workgroup capability of the T620.
The Lexmark T family continues the Lexmark tradition of distributed print architecture, offering duplex and multi-function capability at an outstanding 20 ppm for an entry level workgroup printer.
All Lexmark T paper input and output options are modular offering flexibility to configure workgroup printers to fit any business applications,
The Lexmark T family features such as memory, optional firmware cards, paper handling, multi-function options, and adapter cards are common to all printers in the T family.
The StapleSmart finisher, an industry's first for an A4 printer, offers distributed finishing capability in a compact, space saving design. The StapleSmart finisher brings stapling and offsetting capability, previously only available on departmental printers, at an affordable price.
Lexmark T family printers with the optional ImageQuick card (standard on T620in and T622in) turns the printer into an information station. The ImageQuick allows pull printing directly from the internet, no PC required. Forms and critical documents available on an intranet or internet site, accessible world wide, can be printed directly from the printer operator panel. Virtually eliminate pre-printed forms or critical documents and ensure the information is always current.
The Lexmark T family offers functionality transforming the printer into an information device capable of improving the efficiency of business processes.
The Lexmark W820 and W810 is our offering to high perfomance, wide format departmental printing solutions. The W810 is a 35 ppm laser printer and the W820 is a 45 ppm laser printer. The W820 addresses higher volume environments than what the W810 targets and expands the reach of Lexmark network printing solutions into the back office printing arena.

Of course the most noticeable difference with this new series of MFPs is the interactive, easy to use touch screen. But that’s just the beginning. Under that easy to use screen are some very powerful MFP enhancements that really make this new line compelling. These exciting enhancements include the ability to integrate smoothly with enterprise security systems, allowing secure movement of digital documents over the network. Additional enhancements include integration with corporate directories - facilitating walk up faxing and scanning to network, as well as provide intelligent document routing based on user input.
First of all, the new touch screen models provide integration with corporate security. What does this mean? Well, what it means is that you may be required to identify yourself prior to making a copy, scanning a document to the network, or faxing a document. This authentication process is controlled by the system administrator, and may be based on level of functionality requested or administrator preference, supporting NT authentication, corporate directory login through LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), or localized MFP security programmed by Administrator.
This network authentication is a safeguard, protecting confidential information and employees, as well as providing additional audit trail and security features for IT administrator document tracking. Without authentication, any material or information may be moved throughout the corporate network or externally, by anyone, allowing unnecessary opportunity for mischief, and compromising corporate security.

Lexmark Document Distributor consists of two components:
Lexmark Document Server & Document Server Admin
The Lexmark Document Server is the center of Document Distributor. It receives scanned documents from a Lexmark MFP and processes the scan as specified by a the instructions predefined in the selected profile’s script.
Scripts are used as a means to instruct the Lexmark Document Server on what to do with the documents being scanned. Documents can be printed, faxed, ed, copied, ftp, etc… Add conversion stuff here
The Document Server Admin is a tool to manage Document Server settings, monitor server(s), create and download scripts to Lexmark MFP devices. It is this tool that will be used the most, as it is the interface in which all scripts will be created, modified and sent to the particular MFP devices which are involved in a particular workflow process. This utility can either be installed on the Document Server or installed independently on a workstation .

Regarding the packaging of Lexmark Document Distributor, with this announcement, the core LDD functions will no longer be included in the shipment of all Lexmark MFPs, sold separately. Instead, each MFP option and bundle will ship with a CD which will include: The Lexmark ScanBack Utility for scanning documents back to the PC, a Lexmark Document Distributor Demo, as well MFP documentation.
Additional LDD options will be available, including:
1) an LDD version day evaluation CD, which provides all available LDD functions including OCR and barcode. List price for this evaluation CD is $25.
2) a standard LDD version 2.0 with 50 user licenses, providing standard LDD functionality with the new Print N Send and Click N Send functions - List price $1384.
3) an advanced edition of LDD, providing OCR and OMR, as well as the FastMap Utility. List price $1384. Requires LDD version 2.0 standard edition.
4) another advanced edition of LDD, providing Barcode and the FastMap utility. List price $ Requires LDD version 2.0 standard edition.

This picture shows the standard configurations for the Lexmark T family printers. You may have noticed that the Optra name has been dropped. This is in an effort to better brand our products with the Lexmark name. Many customers were focusing on the Optra name, thinking that “Optra” manufactured printers, without recognition of the Lexmark company name.
The Lexmark T printers are exceptionally modular. Each printer is MFP capable and all have the capability of seven input sources, which include five input drawers including 250 sheet, 500 sheet, and 2000 sheet options, in any combination with the only limitation of one 2000 sheet drawer. With the standard multi-purpose tray this gives total input capacity of up to 4100 sheets. In addition, an optional envelope feeder is available with the capacity of 85 envelopes.
The Lexmark T620 & T622 offer all the output options of the Optra T family including output expanders, high capacity output stacker, mailbox option, and the new StapleSmart finishing option. As an added bonus all Lexmark T paper handling options are fully compatible and backward compatible with Optra T, with the exception of the StapleSmart finisher.
The Lexmark T520 & T522 ship with a 5k starter cartridge and offer 7.5k and 20k after market cartridges, increasing the M412 cartridge yield from 15k to 20k. The Lexmark T620 & T622 ship with a 10k cartridge and offer 10k and 30k after market cartridges increasing the maximum yield from 30k from the Optra T family.
Lexmark continues to offer more function for the same price or same functionality for less price. More for same or same for less.
