19 produce smooth vocalization.
Now with Full Color Scanning and Talking Word Prediction If you find reading difficult, Scan and Read Pro will make reading easy and enjoyable. Scan and Read Pro changes printed text into understandable sound. The program helps you in reading and comprehension by highlighting each word as it's read aloud. Scan and Read Pro's voice can also be turned off if you prefer to focus on the visual input only. Scan & Read Pro offers some unique and useful features such as supporting up to 12 different languages, advanced settings making customization easy, and support for automatic document feeders available on high-end scanners. Most voice synthesizers will read parts of words producing a somewhat choppy reading due to the fact that when a word is broken or hyphened across multiple lines, it does not produce continuous speech as it reads each word segment separately. Scan & Read Pro has a special technique for de-hyphenating words so that any speech syntheses will produce smooth vocalization. The E-Text Reader is designed to be a reading tool. You can use it for opening up and reading existing documents in your computer or you can cut and paste from any program on your computer. You can even insert pictures into the text. It is an “easy to use” reader that gives you the ability to change voices, read at any speed, and even allows you to make notes into the document you are reading. The E-Text Reader is designed to help those who have trouble reading or comprehending the printed word. There are thousands of literature titles now available in electronic format. This is great, but if you have trouble reading, electronic formats will be just as difficult to read as hardcopy. To solve this problem, we developed the E-Text Reader. This reader will read (using digital voices) the electronic version of books (“E-Books, or E-Text”) to you. The E-Text Reader can read any document in Standard Text, MS Word, RTF (“Rich Text Format”) and HTML formats. Main Menu

The Federal Trade Commission, the nation’s consumer protection agency, is urging kids to add one more lesson to the list: Don’t post information about yourself online that you don’t want the whole world to know. The Internet is the world’s biggest information exchange: many more people could see your information than you intend, including your parents, your teachers, your employer, the police — and strangers, some of whom could be dangerous. Social networking sites have added a new factor to the “friends of friends” equation. By providing information about yourself and using blogs, chat rooms, , or instant messaging, you can communicate, either within a limited community, or with the world at large. But while the sites can increase your circle of friends, they also can increase your exposure to people who have less-than-friendly intentions. You’ve heard the stories about people who were stalked by someone they met online, had their identity stolen, or had their computer hacked. 72 Apple I-Pad www.apple.com/ipad/features/
The iPad is a tablet computer designed and developed by Apple. It is particularly marketed for consumption of media such as books and periodicals, movies, music, and games; and for general web and access. At about 700 grams, its size and weight are between most contemporary smartphones and laptop computers. Apple sold 3 million iPads in the first 80 days after its April 2010 release. The iPad runs the same operating system as the previously introduced iPod Touch and iPhone,[14] although as of summer 2010, it was a version behind: iPhone OS 3.2, with an update to iOS 4 promised for fall It can run its own specific applications as well as those developed originally for the iPhone. Without modification, it will only run programs approved by Apple and distributed via its online store. Like iPhone and iPod Touch, the iPad is controlled by a multitouch display sensitive to up to eleven fingers[15] — a break from most previous tablet computers, which used a pressure-triggered stylus.[16][17][18] The iPad uses Wi-Fi or a 3G mobile data connection to browse the Internet, load and stream media, and install software.[19][20][21] A USB cable is required to sync the iPad with iTunes on a personal computer, by which the device is managed.
