5 Fielding Process Brigade NLCS is fielded IAW HQDA Directed Requirement for initial issue only Brigade NLCS is not a Program of Record (POR) – no sustainment funding provided Fielding is accomplished via NET utilizing a cadre of Mobile Training Team (MTT) Instructors PM IEDD/PF is responsible for all aspects of fielding process

6 Fielding Timeline D-90 FORSCOM G3 sends tasker with G4 Support/Coordination Coord for D-60 trip Valid POC and contact number Send Unit NMIB to facilitate early coordination Unit requisition NL ammo to support NET D-60 Unit Coordination Visit (unit resource requirements) Representatives from Program Manager Close Combat Systems and the Army Non-Scaleable Effects Center will meet with Unit leadership and POC to brief the New Materiel Information Brief Discuss requirements to support the fielding of the NLCS D-45 Ammo On site Installation/unit Support Verification D-30 Student Verification (Name/Lin) Validate NET trainer cert/required training equipment D-15 Sets on installation Unit prepare to conduct Log/Prop Book transfers Conduct NLCS inventories (2 Days) Unit / installation PBO representatives process paperwork D (-15 thru -2) (MTT Travel as required) NLCS transfer in PBUSE complete (Set on Unit Property Book) D thru D+5 (Training) Trainee Cert Memo (Assistant Commandant, USAMPS, signed document) MTT AAR leadership/trainees/NET

8 Facility Requirements
Classroom AC power outlets and power strips for charging training equipment White screen Seats Tables 30 students Range Small arms range used to fire the non-lethal munitions 25 E-type silhouettes with stands Ammunition detail (sign for and transport ammunition) 10 M203s and 10 Shotguns OIC/RSO Medic Evacuation Vehicle Training Area for TASERs may use area on range above if RC approves Equipment for each day All 10 Quadcons at classroom site for hands on training 2 vehicles to demonstrate alternate anchoring points for PVAB Uniform for each day (gloves and eye protection)

Non-Lethal Munitions 200 total M1006, 40mm Sponge Grenade, BA06 120 total M1029, 40mm Crowd Dispersal Cartridge, BA13 200 total M1012, 12 gauge point, AA51 120 total M1013, 12 gauge area, AA52 Ammunition Supply Point DA 581 – Unit must forecast and requisition DA1687 (authorization for pick-up/turn-in of ammunition) TASER Cartridges (contained in the MTT Kit) 100 total 21’ simulation cartridge 50 total 25’ cartridge 50 total 35’ cartridge IRCAD (OC Spray) (contained in the MTT Kit) 15 total M40 Training IRCADs Unit will not receive training on all NL munitions

Soldier Support 30 Soldiers per NET will be trained E-5 or above requested for the training Use of INIWIC certified Soldiers within Unit What can the BDE Leadership expect from this Soldier after training Continued support to Soldiers after training Range support personnel Ammo handlers support Log Support POC information for Property Book Personnel to execute lateral transfers Shipping Address DODAC and UIC of unit signing for the NLCS 10 Quadcons arrive in Semi Box Truck, forklift and ramp required to unload, MHE assets required to move Quadcons to training site Inventory (conducted by unit) should be conducted Monday prior to start of training Twenty Locks to secure the 10 Quadcons upon arrival 30 Soldier Students to conduct inventory MTT Team Instructor Kit and manuals VIP coordination

NLCS is initial issued to BCT from PM CCS. It is recommended that the TASER Modules be secured. 21 Checkpoint Module Capabilities
Each module provides equipment to operate 4 hasty and 1 deliberate CP M1 PVAB nominally stops a 7,500 lb vehicle traveling at 45 mph within 200’ M1 PVAB is reusable and comes with initial spare parts M1 PVAB allows normal traffic flow through checkpoints M2 VLAD nominally stops a 5,500 lb vehicle traveling at 35 mph within 200’ M2 VLAD is a one time use capture net MAD device can be used in conjunction with Phraselator and VRT for long distance communication (max effective range of 500 ft)
