2 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY
We acknowledge and respect the traditional custodians whose ancestral lands we are meeting upon today. We acknowledge the deep feelings of attachment and relationship of Aboriginal peoples to country. We also pay respects to the cultural authority of Aboriginal people visiting from other areas of South Australia or Australia present here.

STEP 1: PAT placement exercise Permanent teachers in temporary positions placed into ongoing positions where possible STEP 2: Conversion to Permanency All Category 1 and 2 and Zone 3, 4 and 5 country schools and agreed specialist subject areas (where appropriate) STEP 3: Advertising Ongoing vacancies advertised STEP 4: PTR placement exercise for: Consequential and unfilled ongoing vacancies from step 3 Newly submitted ongoing vacancies STEP 5: Advertising or Conversion to Permanency (if applicable) Consequential and unfilled ongoing vacancies STEP 6: Temporary vacancies

6 ADVERTISED TEACHING POSITIONS
Advertising allows schools the greatest opportunity to select their own staff whilst protecting the industrial rights and existing guarantees of permanent employees The Local Selection Panel comprises the Principal (or delegate) as Chairperson and a representative elected by AEU members at the school

All advertised permanent teaching positions will have ongoing tenure Vacancies are advertised on DECDjobs Applications submitted ‘on-line’ via DECDjobs

8 ADVERTISED TEACHING POSITIONS
Advertising dates: Aboriginal, Anangu and SNAP school vacancies Thursday 7th May (Term 2 – Week 2) Country schools and Category 1 and 2 schools vacancies Thursday 4th June (Term 2 – Week 6) All schools vacancies Primary vacancies Monday 20th July Secondary vacancies Wednesday 22nd July Country vacancies Thursday 23rd July (all Term 3 – Week 1) Then Term 3: Weeks 5 & 6 (20th & 27th August)

9 ADVERTISED TEACHING POSITIONS
Who can apply? Both permanent and temporary teachers including teachers currently in leadership positions Eligibility Teachers who meet minimum DECD requirements by the start of the appointment Teachers in at least their second year of permanency Country scholarship holders appointed to a one year position in 2015 can only apply for country positions in 2016

22 PERMANENT TEACHER REGISTER (PTR)
Teachers who MUST be included in the PTR and MUST be placed ie. Teachers who have been in PAT / TPT positions in 2015 are returning from extended leave are completing tenure leadership or seconded positions

23 PERMANENT TEACHER REGISTER (PTR)
Some teachers can OPT into the PTR and MUST be placed ie. Eligible teachers who are: exercising a guarantee (country to metro or country to country)

24 PERMANENT TEACHER REGISTER (PTR)
Some teachers can OPT into the PTR and MAY be placed ie Eligible teachers who are: from Cat 1, 2 or Country Zones 1-5 and seeking metro placement for preferred sites only seeking alternative placement through a transfer

26 COMPLETING A TENURED LEADERSHIP POSITION (Q)
You will be appointed to a position within 45 km of where you commuted daily to the position OR If in the country and your position immediately prior was in the metropolitan area, then you may choose to be placed in the extended metropolitan area or within 45km of where you commuted daily to the leadership position

29 PERMANENT TEACHER REGISTER Teachers in country schools
Guaranteed placement in a metropolitan school I Country to Metropolitan Guarantee – eligible if: appointed prior to 1996 with 50 or more placement points and eligible service or appointed in or after 1996 and in at least 8th year of continuous country service in Zones 4 and 5 or in at least 10th year of continuous country service in Zones 1 or 2 or 3 Placement in 25 nominated secondary / 75 nominated primary

30 PERMANENT TEACHER REGISTER Teachers in country schools
Guaranteed placement in a metropolitan school J Country to Metropolitan Guarantee – appointed prior to 1996 to country and eligible service with at least 30 to less than 50 placement points. Nominate 2 groups of extended metropolitan districts

Nearer Country Guarantee H Remote to nearer Country Guarantee if minimum 2 years permanent in a remote school Placement in nearer country location or other county school of preference

Requesting alternative placement in listed metropolitan schools with eligibility: F Worked continuously at least last 4 years in IoED Cat 1 school/s or designated Special Service Site and still in tenure U Worked continuously at least last 4 years in IoED Cat 1 school/s or designated Special Service Site and out of tenure O Worked continuously at least last 5 years in IoED Cat 2 (or 1/2) school/s and still in tenure K Worked continuously at least last 5 years in IoED Cat 2 (or 1/2) school/s and out of tenure

Teachers may apply for consideration of special circumstances at any time Teachers must complete a Special Placement Request (VL729) form and forward to Senior HR Consultants Required on an annual basis Teachers must include relevant documents to support their request (eg medical) In exceptional circumstances teachers may be granted a Special Placement Agreement for inclusion in the PTR
