7 PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF NORTH CAROLINA STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION Success Factors: Process & Policy  School and LEA-level business processes WILL need to change to take full advantage of NC WISE functionality. For example : Teachers input data directly into the program. UERS has people of varying roles involved in the approval process. Procedures for scheduling must be completed before the end of June. Training is ongoing as new people are brought on board and software changes are made.  Going from a few people who ran SIMS to many people who will now have access to data with NC WISE  Policies must be adjusted to support effective operations with NC WISE. Upgrading grades and attendance Security Data requirements for audits Access to information  ENFORCING new processes and policies is the most challenging part ! NC WISE is more than new technology — it is a new way of operating.
