2 Getting started In a GP/ITP post, or as an ST3, you are required to undertake a total of 24 hours OoH work for each 4 month rotation In ST3 this totals 72 hours for the year Local OoH care is provided by ‘Integrated Care 24’, formerly South East Health, formerly SeaDoc IC24 also provide 111 triage

4 Register with IC24 Complete and return the application form You will also need to provide: An up-to-date CV Copy of your Hep B status certificate Evidence to confirm your eligibility to work in the UK (eg copy of passport) Evidence of your National Insurance number (eg copy of p45 or NI card) Evidence of resuscitation training Copy of GMC registration document Copy of DBS (CRB) disclosure Copy of Medical Defence Insurance Certificate

5 Sign-up for shifts Once registered you will be sent login details for RotaMaster. This will allow you to view and book suitable shifts. Go to the RotaMaster website Enter your username and password

6 Sign up for shifts Click on the ‘More Registrar Shifts’ bar and enter the area you wish to work. This will show all the supervisors and their availability.

9 Place and types of shift Rother, Hastings, Bexhill, Eastbourne, Newhaven, Uckfield (or Brighton) Primary care centre Car shift ‘Delta’

10 Sign up for shifts Click on the shifts you wish to request and then ‘send’. This will generate an automatic to you showing the shifts you have requested. This is not a confirmation. Once the rota has been uploaded (usually about twice a day) you will be able to see the shifts on the first page under ‘Registrar Shifts’. Ignore the text saying ‘You have no confirmed shifts at this time’, the software only classes paid shifts as confirmed. If your shifts are not shown contact Kate Orton to ask for confirmation

11 CLEO Consultations are recorded electronically on CLEO, which also requires a username and password. If you have not been sent a login for CLEO, contact Jo Langridge Remember to take the log-in details with you to your shift.

13 Recording your OoH shift Take a form with you Remember to ask your supervisor to sign this at the end of your shift Scan and upload to ePf plus write a reflection if you wish Go to traininghttp://kssdeanery.org/general-practice/trainees/gp-specialty-training/ooh- training On the right-hand navigation panel click on ‘COGPEd OOH paper_2007 revision 2010’ to download a word document. p61 (!) is the template page for recording an OoH session. Print out this page and take it with you to your shift.
