10  On January 28, 2014, Joanie, represented OFOR,  joined poets Paulann Peterson  and Tim Barnes  in international  readings of  Stafford poems at  Portland’s  Central Library,  Podcasted  World-wide

11   OFOR presented an evening forum with  Project Censored director Mickey Huff, associate director Andy Lee Roth, and chairman Dr. Peter Phillips—who discussed themes from Censored 2014: Fearless Speech in Fateful Times and screened the new, award-winning documentary, Project Censored The Movie: Ending the Reign of Junk Food News.Project Censored The Movie: Ending the Reign of Junk Food News

12   Since 1976, Project Censored has educated the public about the importance of a truly free press for democratic self- government. We expose and oppose news censorship and we promote independent investigative journalism, media literacy and critical thinking. 

22  Peace Walk   We wondered what our walk should mean,  taking that un-march quietly;  the sun stared at our signs - “Thou shall not kill.”   Men by a tavern said, “Those foreigners…”  to a woman with a fur, who turned away –  like an elevator going down, their look at us.   Along a curb, their signs lined across,  a picket line stopped and stared  the whole width of the street, at ours: “Unfair.”   Above our heads the sound truck blared –  by the park, under the autumn trees –  it said that love could fill the atmosphere:   Occur, slow the other fallout, unseen,  on islands everywhere – fallout falling  unheard. We held our poster up to shade our eyes.   At the end we just walked away;  no one was there to tell us where to leave the signs. -William Stafford
