2 Welcome to our workshop on Impact Measures Jane Marshall – Healthy College Manager Graham Fleming – Programme Manager for Sport, Public Services, Hospitality and Tourism Aims of the workshop: To provide an opportunity to explore Healthy FE measures and potential impacts on colleges To provide a forum in which we can share ideas and experience To provide an opportunity for colleagues to contribute to the development of an Impact Measurement Tool that would be of benefit to Colleges developing Healthy FE

Increased income and reduced wastage -Stable finances Better self assessment -Good Ofsted inspection result A Successful College

5 Measurable Impacts From a staff perspective, healthy college has contributed significantly to reducing staff absenteeism to just over 3%, a saving for Bradford College against any national public sector benchmark of at least £390k. From a student perspective improved diets and eating patterns have helped keep students alert which in turn has contributed to improved success rates, this impact has resulted in a £700k increase in our funding contract. 7 Consultation Exercise Working in groups and using the Healthy FE Impact Measurement Tool (spreadsheet): 1.Discuss the list of suggested measures and potential impacts in terms of their suitability for use in your organisations 2.What do you want the impact measurement tool to do for you? Please make any recommendations, feel free to add or take-away from the lists 3.Discuss format and layout – how would you like it look? 4.Do you foresee any barriers within your organisations to measuring these impacts? 5.Appoint someone in your group to feedback to the workshop
