The Healthy FE Vision ‘The vision for the future is for FE providers to have strong relationships with community partners to create a learning environment where positive well-being is the expectation for all, producing learners and staff who are confident, healthy, safe, emotionally resilient and personally fulfilled.’ Healthy FE Steering Group, December 2008
What is the Healthy FE Programme? Two principles steer the Healthy FE programme: Sector led; FE institutions should identify what is wanted and what they can deliver as part of their mainstream business It should not seek to create new infrastructure and processes but make use of and develop existing arrangements wherever possible
How will the programme support a college? A dedicated Healthy FE website incorporated into the LSIS Excellence Gateway site Establish a regional network of practitioners and their partners to exchange information, gather data, be a mechanism to promote peer review, training etc Provide a self-review tool for colleges that will support FE institutions devise an action plan for improving their provision for student and staff well-being
